The way it’s done still sux though imho, he doesn’t really overclock himself, and I don’t like injecting myself with BS in game.
As a fan of Bioshock for only this reason, yes.

That tells the rest of him to pull trigger better.

After all, stimpack does make marines shoot faster.
Make whatever headcannon you want, its a silly hero shooter. Maybe it gives him a strength boost to be able to manage an increased recoil of a faster rate of fire and the gun’s normal ‘setting’ isn’t actually its physical limit, just its useful limit.
We’ll just, he injects himself with a drug that slows down time so he reacts faster while also making it seem like he’s shooting faster

It’s a stimpack so it doesn’t affect the gun at all. It gives him a boost of energy which allows him to perform tasks better and slightly improves his health for the duration of the stimulus.
I don’t see how that’s difficult to understand
Metzen created S76 too, so it’s the most appropriate character to have this conversation around! He drew him back in 1998 with the 76 badge on him and everything. I always thought that was neat.

The logical answer is that the limitation on how quickly Soldier can fire his gun isn’t on the gun, but rather Soldier.
His Stim increases his ability to stabilise and handle his gun, thus increasing his capacity for firing faster.
Thank god I wasn’t the only one that noticed that absurd sentence.

I think the easiest way to make sense of it is that he can adjust his fire rate on the weapon itself, but the injection allows him to manage the kick so that he doesn’t sacrifice accuracy.
So Soldier is only upping his firerate on his weapon when he can inject himself and maintain his accuracy. It makes sense and says a lot about how approaches his weapon.
He prefers precision over spray and pray, unlike someone like Mauga.
What if he manually overclocks his gun after injecting himself? When he increases his focus via his stim shot, he makes his gun shoot faster since he’s able to control it better. When its over, he manually deactivates the over clocking.
