As far as I’ve gathered over the years, it’s a combo of factors.
Some dudes play them for weird fetishy reasons, others just do it for roleplay and are playing an OC, and most just play them because men actually do enjoy dress up and the girls get more fun outfit options. There’s also a few that ultimately realize they felt comfortable on female characters because they were actually trans.
