Why does Blizz struggle so much with female fantasy designs?

probably not wrong. usually it doesn’t happen that fast, but the topic was unique and very personal for me.

Something like this could never happen.
Closest we ever got was cat-Marge from that god awful dr. moreau "parody"episode…

Blaming player count dropping solely on the introduction of a new char is just extremely stupid.

Go away.

Very far away.

It’s so weird seeing all the culture warriors going insane over a game nobody has even heard of or cares about.

A bunch of words strung together to say nothing.

She’s definitely conventionally attractive, just a bit older.
And not even that much older, visually I mean.

Since you still haven’t been permanently banned from this forum, not so much rules for thee.

Wrong website pervert.

Hmm, I wonder how one could interpret this person as a bigot, I just don’t see it.

hmm

That’s an understatement.

Just know that I wasn’t trying to get on your bad side here. Just having a normal discussion.

I hear it is VERY exclusive (given the number of people online at any one time).

People say they want diversity in their games but when it comes, They never really support it.
They want non-conventionally attractive characters, and when they get them, even the people who wanted them, don’t pay attention After a week of glazing because at the end of the day, they are visually not great to look at.

Blizzard and people on the forums were throwing parades when venture came around for a week and now they’re not popular that they can’t even get a skin.

Why is it your assumption that it’s the same people asking for these things.

What I want to know is why, when there is clear evidence of this phenomenon, it must be ignored so we don’t offend people.

At this point I want to contact a bookie and place some money on the over under of profits made from Assassins Creed: Shadows. Even though it’s an AC game, I want to bet money on it not making back the cost of the game itself. Thing is, we all know why.

It’s a vocal minority of people who actually want it. And the others say they want it because it sounds like something a good person would say.
Passive activism That doesn’t actually take effort

on how many layers of terminal loser syndrome are you on to think that the scary coloreds and elgeebeetees are why OW failed

You Play overwatch, which was a woke game since 2016. It’s crazy that you have such a little self-awareness.

The difference is that overwatch actually has good character designs that are appealing to people and the game is unique.

Does Overwatch, or any Blizzard title have to be super successful, or bankrupt? Is there no in between?

When Overwatch came out we had absolutely no idea about any of the characters (who are all fake) sexualities. Overwatch already had an audience before Overwatch started to dig into these aspects of the fake characters.

Maybe it is just me, but all of the characters have their own visual flair, and I have never once thought any of them look remotely alike - regardless of gender or species. Neither Junker Queen nor Zarya look like they are out of a Barbie Doll catalogue, and they certainly do not look like each other.

I am not sure it makes sense to compare Deadlock and Overwatch artistically in this sense. Deadlock has a highly stylized art style that lends itself to extremely exaggerated designs, and it is set in some futuristic yet retro fantasy world with living gargoyles, dudes who shoot fire with their fingers and a Japanese swordswoman straight out of the Coneheads movie. Overwatch is set in a realistic setting in a potential future of our own, so their designs are more grounded.

Are you wanting characters like in Concord? Because, if so, that game is bombing HARD, and that studio is not likely to even exist in 6 months let alone a year, so why would Blizzard knowingly flush money down the toilet for a proven bad business model?

These forums are just WILD sometimes.

it doesnt matter they know what will attract people to thegame

I am not talking from a money standpoint. Blizz discovered they can milk a thousand whales with predatory monetization.

OW failed to be the game it was designed to be because it tried to be like league of legends and be a e-sports bait game.

While I agree that OW had a demographic way before S76 or Tracer, the truth is that a lot of what made OW such an hyperpopular sensation back in the day was the fact that it was accessible AND the characters were attractive to the fandom.

My point is that it was not the lgbt or non-white characters… no one minded those aside a minority. It was purely gameplay degradation what killed OW.

Why are y’all so obsessed on whatever Venture has on their pants.

Its entirely irrelevant to the discussion.

20 characters. woo

Go check out Concord. It sounds right up your alley, and they’re in desperate need of more players.

I feel like much of the silhouette diversity of Overwatch characters comes from the distinction between tanks and dps+supports. Because Tank’s are supposed to be the center of attention, they’re allowed to have more interesting shapes.

So that being said, add more female tanks!

I think additionally, Blizzard’s idea of attractiveness seems very narrow. According to Blizzard, attractive women solely come in the hourglass shape and are young. Meanwhile if you even look at pictures of the best-looking women according to society, they all look very different - body shapes, ages, heights, colouring, etc.

I’ve seen some people try to defend this by going “hur-dur hitboxes”, but they don’t seem to realise that expanding a character’s waist a little, narrowing their hips, broadening their shoulders or what have you, really won’t alter the hitboxes at all. A lot of people seem to think that by body shapes we mean weight, when that’s just not true at all.

Where faces are concerned, facial harmony makes attractiveness. It’s not about having the “right” lips, nose, eyes, chin, etc. So Blizzard could get really creative, but they don’t really - or at least not that often. Personally, if I see another childish-looking Dva clone, I will snap lol.
