Why do you still play Overwatch?

I definitely don’t play as much as I used to but every evening I usually play between 3 and 10 games of arcade, usually no limits but sometimes capture the flag or team death match. I only really like to play mercy, I always have fun, I always find it relaxing, and arcade players are usually quite kind.

I just play to waste time. I mean there isn’t any real value to a game like this.

Pew pew, Frag, Pew pew. Rinse, repeat.

I hear this a lot. Overwatch players who hate Valorant don’t like shooters. Now to me I think Valorant is more enjoyable, it has that fantasy element of abilities, but also plays like a real shooter. What I hated for the longest time about Overwatch was that I couldn’t play WidowMaker all the time. Overwatch 1 if I was on attack and we were on a map like Anubis or Hanamura, I couldn’t play Widow because of Double shield Bastion turret or Double Shield Double turret setup. Always getting yelled at to swotch because of the enemy team is ridiculous to me. Or even in Overwatch 2 when I played, I can’t play Widow on maps like Oasis, Lijang, etc, because of the map, or again the enemy team. It felt unplayable, am I supposed to not play Widow because of bad game design? That’s stupid to me. Most times all I did was question why she was in the game. It got to a point where I literally decided to just only play her and I still was miserable because I couldn’t do anything. Constantly running around, getting targeted by everyone. In Valorant I get to one trick my main and I feel like I can actually improve, just by playing. Sure Valorant has its flaws, but I like how it’s playable.

I’m playing less and less and will eventually stop all together.

I love the characters and the core game is still great with friends outside of the matchmaker and balancing issues of course. But overall I do play a lot less.

I play it because despite all its flaws they never will fix its currently the least bad fps game that isnt “dead”. Why would I care about a pve mode that was gonna be at best meh anyway. :octopus:

Cause I have fun here and PVE was never something to look towards to for me.

I don’t. Uninstalled it a month ago or so. After they made Brig even more awkward to play. Twas my best decision in 2023 so far.
Still check the forums for some good laughs tho.

Because there isn’t much competitive games out there that can replace Overwatch in terms of what it can offer. Valorant is okay, but I find myself getting bored of it quickly because it lacks variety in playstyle.

But the major reason why I don’t play Valorant as often as Overwatch is because of the lack of replay feature, which I find vital in a compeititve game. Without a replay feature, I find myself having a hard time learning from my mistakes as well as getting better at the game. The replay feature also is a content in itself and keeps me entertained.

Let’s put it this way: if Overwatch didn’t have a replay feature, I probably wouldn’t be playing the game at all. In another words, if Valorant also introduces a replay feature sometime in the near future, I might start playing it just as much as Overwatch.

Because I like to play Lifeweaver and play with friends.

My thousands of hours aside, I’m not as extremely dedicated as I used to be.

I don’t enjoy it. I enjoy the mindless grind. I enjoy seeing the Battle Pass meter go up bit by bit at the cost of my suffering.

I played 6 matches of All Roles tonight (healer role) and lost 5 of them because my teammates decided to chase people down across the map, into fights I couldn’t follow while the enemy took advantage of me on the objective.

Every single match of Support, no… ANY role is literally “It is what it is”. That’s every match. It’s not fun, but it’s also not ‘not’ fun. I enjoy spending time knowing that it will get me rewards if I win the teammate lottery and we end up winning the match. But I may as well just play Competitive without audio at night because at least my teammates will actually help me.

Like at some point you have to just feed the I.V. to your patients and hope to god they get better. That’s what playing this game feels like??? like I’m babysitting people (at least in quick play).

So again, I don’t enjoy it, but I can’t stop playing? The Titles this season are actually good so… I gotta chase those down so I can wear them later on, when the game is actually fun.

Also, I only play with friends in Versus A.I. since my actual friends are either on PC or at different (Lower) skill levels than me, causing major queue times and horrible matchmaking. So yeah, forced to play alone until this sacred PvE mode comes out.

What a weird take. I stopped playing Ow after the PvE cancelation but I would never in my life touch Valorant, because 1. it’s made by Riot, 2. it plays absolutely horribly imo. Has the trash gunplay from CSGO which I always despised and doesn’t transfer at all from or to any other shooter. I moved onto Planetside 2 for my pvp needs and started playing way more pve/single player games.

I kinda don’t.

I’m too focused on work stuff, DarkTide, and a friend’s going to pull me into Diablo 4 and Street Fighter 6.
Other than that, I’m just paying a lot of attention to this Microsoft/Blizzard merger, and praying that it goes through, and praying it gets rid of Bobby Kotick.

But that Variety article is doing wonders for showing why Bobby needs to leave.

This one ain’t bad either.

How we feeling about this now, RoadhogTime?

Cause i hate myself so much

I don’t, thank god i got to experience overwatch 1. The moment they said they were going to 5v5 i immediately lost interest. It’s cool that you guys enjoy 5v5 but for me personally tank synergies were the most interesting part of the game.

I have no idea what you’re talking about. Im gonna be honest with you

found the fella who lives under a rock

To pass time without looking at the clock constantly because I have no life, no friends, and nothing to do.

Since this got necro’d anyway…

This aged so well… :eye: :biting_lip: :eye:
