Well, they won’t do that. As there is no fun in “fair” fight with enemy Tracer/Genji, when you can pick on weaker targets.
Sooner or later Blizzard had to realize, that players do not work as a team. They had 2 alternatives:
- make supporting actually powerful. To the point, where healing DPS makes them nearly unstoppable without taking care of support first. So players actually have to protect their supports, or it’s indeed will be loss;
or - create supports like Moira/Brigitte, that do not need protection;
Or it’s better DPS, who doesn’t need supports to succeed. And enemy DPS won’t stand much of a chance, even if they are supported.
Since Mercy is most DPS-oriented support at the moment, let’s use her as example. Can she make weaker DPS win? Well, she can provide a bit of extra life time for them, but not much else. As damage boost works in favor of better DPS, which lands their shots first. She can resurrect weaker DPS for round 2, but they won’t become stronger.
