Why do people hate dash reset so much?

Yes for damage, no for mobility because Lucio’s speed doesn’t actually have a limit

I used to be an Orisa main, then moved to Sigma. Now that both have been heavily nerfed i play mostly dps, sometimes support, and when I tank I usually opt for Sigma (he’s still fun) Zarya, Winston, or Hammond.
I haven’t played Orisa in quite awhile, despite having probably 200+ hrs on her. most played character)

because apparently ā€œits unskilledā€ when in reality removing dash reset completely kills the character. with the low dmg he has, he needs it to keeup up with dmg since hes considered a blade bo… i mean snowball hero. yeah thats what i meant

It is long compared to other movement abilities, and like someone else said, its dumb to compare dash to nade or immort field, they do seperate things

Blinks are fast and versatile, she gets 3 of them. Sombra has an escape, reaper wraiths out, doomfist can also get out if he isn’t interrupted by cc, like every other flanker, your change pretty much says that genji has to get 4 kills in order to get out with his dash, which makes no sense as every other flanker can get in get out. You can’t say stuff like ā€œtracer doesn’t have recall all the timeā€ because a good tracer isn’t running into the backline without recall. Doomfist doesn’t have deflect, but he has consistent mobility and a passive that gives him shield for playing the character effectively. He is trash without dash because its his only horizintal mobility. Thats the point. Your idea punishes a genji for getting a kill in the team and leaving, does it not?

Deflect is not a reliable defensive cooldown, especially against cc, which is the counter to him. Even then, deflect isn’t used to buy time, thats low value, deflecting cooldowns in duels is a much better trade. You are riding on them fact the genji is forced to use all his cooldowns to even have a chance of staying alive and getting out. This is a terrible bait 4/10

Thr only thing I don’t like is the reset he gets when he ults. The base reset on elims is fine, I just don’t really see why a good Genji needs to chain 2 dashes together just because he pressed Q.

I think that it needs to get its extranous power removed.

Make it actually a skillful reset by resetting on dash kill only, not on Genji looking at someone a bit hard dealing 0.000001 of dmg, who then dies seconds later by 99.9% his teammates’ damage and Genji gets reset anyways.

i don’t hate it, but i hate when genjis do a ghost dash with no reason, it feels like a flex.

and thinking about it, i do a lot of unnecessary super-jumps and super-jump reses so i will shut up.

mainly it’s the dash itself. It allows him to fly across the map in a few frames and makes tracking him during a blade a horrific experience when he’s constantly skipping all over the place.

Also is quite dishonest to pretend he doesnt have double jump AND wall climb too , which are, in fact, movement abilities.
Dont speak like without Swift strike he is more static than Mcree.

Fast and versatile? Really? Like climbing several levels and forcing people to aim vertically is not useful?
Also blinks are shorter and dont DO damage? (which is a melee damage, goes through shields, something you conveniently forget too I guess)

Reaper doesnt really have an engage ability because his TP is underwhelming and arguably the worst skill in game. Also his range is way way way way lower compared to Genji’s.

Saying like DF can also get out if he isnt interrupted by CC is like saying we all get present all the time … during christmas. Not hitting DF with CC or with 250+ damage with that size of a hitbox IS the anomaly dude. Again, dont pretend otherwise.

My point is that the reset mechanic is WAY TOO FORGIVING and that is a fact.
We all agree that making it only reset on his kills is counter intuitive and can make his team ā€œgriefā€ him involuntarily but again, pretending that ā€œGenji is trash without dashā€ when some other balance options can be made (like a -2 or -3 sec CD when kill/assist is made) is again wrong and false.

So DF is the best as long as CC is not there, and you make it seem like thats the normal situation but when it comes to Genji now, Deflect is not reliable because CC is there and somehow it ā€œcounters himā€ ? The dude that can deflect flashbang for example?

Also it counters him … more than DF? A dude that has like 2x his hitbox? A hero that gets punished like 10x compared to Genji and basically has to use ALL his skills to get in and out?

I just find it ironic. They removed genji’s ledge dash because he could travel a very large distance. Ironically genji can do it as well but now when he got a kill.

Because they died due to it.

That’s literally the only reason anyone on these forums hate anything.

There’s people who still think he’s overpowered, so it’s not a great place for balance discussion to say the least.

Unmissable 50 damage that gets Genji into his best possible position (double jumping on your head fanning down) on a low cooldown that can be reset :man_shrugging:t2:

8 seconds for a mobility ability is really long.
50 damage can be healed in less then a second

True, but as a genji you get to double jump, deflect, climb and dash. Have of those option have no cooldown. Plus if we name genji as a flanker it should be followed with some range/dmg limits. Sombra / tracer / DF cant fight on long distances so they need fo fight at close range. Genji is not limited that way

He theoretically, in practicality his range is similar to tracer’s.

I don’t think it’s broken, but as a support it is very stressful knowing you can’t let anyone get anywhere close to 50hp, even behind a shield, or they will get ganked. If more than one person gets low, watching him just zip zap zoop your team is frustrating.

Again, I don’t think it’s broken, but it IS stressful when your team is under pressure.

Your getting pressed but alright, like I said before, and I will say it again, he has one of the longest mobility cooldowns in the game, every other flanker has a shorter mobility cooldown. If he doesn’t have any horizantal mobility, is he a flanker, is hanzo forgiving too because he has double jump on cooldown and can wall climb?

Alright when I replied I said that the ability is used for positioning and you agreed with me. You can not double jump and wall climb out of a team unless their is a high ground nearby, limiting factors like being chased by other mobility characters.

I never said blinks were better then dash, and they don’t need to do damage they travel pretty far and are a short cooldown. Her blink also has some mechanical bugs that let her travel up places. They don’t need to do damage when a character has 4 different escapes, in one kit. Her strafe is also the best in the game, and her hitbox is tiny.

Did you forget your supposed to tp high ground or a back line and drop on tanks and squishies and wraith out. He has two forms of mobility thats why they are on large cooldowns, even then wraith is considered a defense cooldown. Your tp isn’t for escaping its for positioning, and wraith is very forgiving, just like recall. The range of genji is only 15 meters, he isn’t sniping people with his terrible poke shirukens.

Every single flanker gets countered by cc, this is so dumb. Your rework forces a genji to stay in a team for 6 seconds once he gets one kill, and your answer is, make him use all his cooldowns and hope his dash comes back online, or, he can double jump to the skybox I can’t aim vertically :(. If you stun a genji when he dashes in he has no way of stopping it while he is stunned. Stop saying other characters are affected by cc while genji isn’t.

He is trash because again, NO HORIZINTAL MOBILITY. No flanker in this game gets punished for going into a team and leaving, you can stop flankers from leaving, but all of them can do it. This physically puts a limit on his cooldowns to where he has to get 4 kills, or just hope to dear god he can survive the next 6 seconds inside the team. That is what you are saying. Your counter arguement currently is ā€œhe is way to forgiving so he can’t do it even though every one else can.ā€ Forgiving is a character like reaper. You get a simple shotgun, 250 health, and once you get in trouble, you can wraith out. Every single part of genjis kit can be outplayed, if your gamesense isn’t high enough to know that your in trouble. His double jump is linear after he burns the second one, he climbs straight on walls, his deflect can be bypassed by tons of cc and beam weapons. These are obvious things you can abuse if a genji is trying to use his mobility. It isn’t forgiving if it can’t even protect you from much. A good genji blocking your cooldown or killing you with deflect isn’t forgiving, its your miss play, he outplayed you.

Wraith, ice block, these are all defensive cooldowns. Yes doom is prob the best flanker in the game if everything goes his way, but its not. In reality, their usually is a cc on a comp, and defensive abilities from other characters. But you are saying that genji should just not be able to get a kill and get out because I can’t hit him and hes too forgiving. If he was then deflect would heal and make him invulerable, he would have consistent horizantal mobility, he would have an escape that took him to a health pack and cleansed him. Forgiving means erasing a mistake. A genji double jumping over you is abusing his mobility, any good player would just track his second jump. A genji player using wall climb cannot shoot back, so any good player would just shoot him while he struggles to even use it because of its inconsistency. Deflect, blocks melee and some projectiles, but a good player would use cc, or just shoot him with a beam. Most cc goes through deflect, so just save the cc for it, its not hard. All of his kit is easily punishable.

I never forgot anything I just brought points, and you just keep on saying ā€œgenji is to forgiving I can’t hit him so he needs to have his dash ineffective unless he team wipes.ā€
