Why create moira to make up for lack of player's skill?

She will die. Like most heroes against these two she will DIE. Unlike most of those heroes she doesnt have a valid way of outdielling them

Then what, exactly, is the problem?

I ask again:

You keep bringing up ML7 like he isn’t the best support player in the game. Like you somehow think he is representing all Moira players lol.

I agree, she shouldn’t even be in the competitive game mode. Some heroes should be restricted to quickplay

That was a leap in logic there. If you have a problem with her in comp, then clearly you aren’t as good as you claim.

She gets very little value above plat, since most other supports have more utility to help the team with.

Did you already test her on practise range?

It seems like you’re personally attacking me, but you are gold 3 and I got Diamond 1 within 1 hour of placements. I am a master’s level player.

This is not about me being good or bad, this is about a hero destroying the competitive integrity of the game.

Yes! and it does not require any aiming whatsoever besides looking generally at the enemy player! Unlike zarya beam that requires actual precision!

She shouldn’t even be played that high up XD
Half the support roster has more going for it than she does, she doesn’t get value against coordinated teams (like sombra).

You do need to track tve target.
I did say it’s a zarya beam but wider.
But hey, at least you now know it’s not lock-on. (No idea how you got all the way to diamond while thinking it’s a lock-on)

Unfortunately, masters is not that high as a lot of gold players have been able to abuse Moira to unfairly play at a level beyond their skill.

Of course in GM, no one really plays her because most GM players are actually good. I don’t think good players would want to main her anyways due to lack of skill she requires.

You contradicted yourself, and yes it quite literally is lock-on. If it wasn’t lock-on then moira vs genji would be an actual skill match up where their would be a difference between a good player playing moira vs a bad player playing moira.

I didn’t though. It is a wide beam.

So the beam stays attached to a target when the target isn’t on your screen? That’s what you’re saying it did in practice range?
Where did you find symmetra1.0 XD

I have 8 years of mmr on this account. Ask anyone, it slows you down more than a brand new account would. (No idea where i would be on a new account)

But maybe you should learn how all the heroes work “mister diamond”. Instead of arguing points that even the devs would tell you are not true.

No. It’s just that this is a hero shooter and they want characters that play different and utilize difference skills. This isn’t an arcade twitch shooter. If you want the only measure of skill to be mechanical aim, go play CoD.

Overwatch, like most hero shooters, is about character match ups, team composition, counterpicking, and above all, the ability to do well and contribute even if your mechanical skills are weaker. Characters like Mei, Mercy, Winston, Moira, Reinhardt, etc. have little or no requirement of mechanical skill but still have wide skill expression. It’s not like because they don’t have to aim a crosshair that they require no skill to use. They utilize and require a different set of skills than just aiming. They can contribute significantly to their team or be useless just like aiming heroes because a player can have good aim but poor game sense which these kinds of heroes require. Not every hero has to be a Soldier, Cass, Widow, Ashe, etc.

Certain heroes, and Overwatch as a whole, measures skill expression in ways other than just raw mechanical skill. Team composition, counterpicking, hero matchups and synergy, combining abilities, tracking cooldowns, creating space, situational awareness, enemy prediction, enemy and ally prioritization, strategy, etc. You wanting the game to be a measure of aim as the primary or exclusive measure of skill is not what Overwatch is or has ever been about.

Because it brings in cash! Skill based is only for few but majority want just a QP style game and rewarded with gold weapon.

As a 2000 hour Pharah main, I’m going to have to insist you never play her again if you have issues with MOIRA on her.

Just no.

I’ll swap to Moira just to hunt down and force the Genji to swap so I can play what I actually want to play (Zen) lol.

No…

lol

Venture has to hit you three times in a row to kill you, that’s not a one shot by any means.

gotta find that replay code. That tracer was standing further back than widow, spammed all her cd’s (all 3 blinks and recall) and then decidwd to engage frontal against the entire enemy team.

did that for the entire match, ended 2/17 or something. Will link the code if I find it. thats hilirious, how they even remotely reached my skill level. dearly hope it was a thrower cause that was sad to watch. Now even with a turned off monitor would i expect even a bronze to play that bad.
but hey “S tier hero”

I didn’t say I have a problem (although in a rare once in a while I can indeed die to her, given wierd circumstances), but I do get targeted by her. Remember her range is 20 meters. It is nothing to scoff at.

I probably have 2000+ hours as well on Pharah, having played since release.

It’s actually a thin beam with auto lock so almost all statements you’re making is incorrect.

They did a reset literally last season. Once again, another false statement. I don’t know what point to even make when everything you said is just misinformation.

Haven’t seen a Moira op thread in a while feels like OW1 days again. Love it

I think it actually lost them cash. People in general want skill-based games, the moira mercy brig hero pool have a very specific playerbase that is un-competitive that don’t really want to work on mechanics, game sense that much.

Other games like CS2, even LoL that does require more skill are way more popular. Overwatch unfortunately will never reach that level due to certain hero designed making the game unfun, unskilled, counterwatchy, uncompetitive.

Go to top 500 leaderboard, and check how many moiras are in it.

Moira is trash, and should be buffed so these complains could have a meaning.

No top 500 competitive player would chose to play a hero like moira to begin with. It would feel undeserved being in t500 as a moira player because it doesn’t relate to your real skill in the game.

There might be some moira players in t500 but most likely would never be t500 without moira. That’s the difference.

She not only has the highest pick rate since launch but a stable undeservingly positive winrate. Hope this refuted both your arguments.
