Why backfill as a flex tank

all i want are passes, and i only get one for what is a loss 90% of the time.

im incentivized to leave and re que.

this isnt some moral standpoint here, its an honest question for the devs.

This seems like the ideal situation?

Tank queue is the fastest and you get put into games almost done where you’re guaranteed one pass…seems like you’d get passes faster if you always backfilled into losing tank games.

yes if you throw. but i wont do that. so you backfill, take a point and watch the loss unfold for 5 minutes. or backfill halfway into the first map of KoH.

but yes, the best way would be to backfill into the last point with 5 members of your team dead lol.

Well, I wasn’t suggesting throwing.

I guess I just wouldn’t consider a match with 5 minutes or part way through first map KotH as assumed losses. I’d say my chances of winning those are basically the same as if I was there from the beginning.

I’d consider unsalvageable matches to be anything less than 1 min for sure, maybe up to 2…or if the payload is closing in.

But yeah, if what you described happens a lot I guess it wouldn’t be worth it,

People who have little to no game sense will leave a game that was very evenly matched just because a team fight was lost somewhere in the middle of the match. This really sucks for everyone involved.

What is worse is when a backfill joins and thinks they are joining a lost cause so they leave. This can sometimes happen several times. By the time the 5th backfill person joins they are joining a game that is now one sided because the team had to do a 5v6 for almost the whole match.

It wasn’t the team that caused the loss, it was the leavers.

You backfill in a game with only a couple of minutes left (say 2), you get a pass

You play a whole game that lasts 10 minutes and you win you get what 5 passes?

In each situation you get a pass for every two minutes of game, however in the backfill scenario you’re guaranteed a pass for the two minutes, in the 10 minute option you could potentially lose and only get one pass

How is backfilling not good in this situation?

Yeah this is always so frustrating. Because I’ve noticed that a lot of times the people quickest to leave a match are often the worst players.

There’s been plenty of times where the weak link(s) leave and basically anyone else would be better…but then the backfill leaves :frowning:

Lol this was literally my thought process. But OP has different criteria for what a “90% chance to lose” game is.

while true, i have won 2cp maps in 2 minutes, and getting rolled for 4 minutes isnt fun at all. so you have a fun incentive as well as a pass incentive.

ok right. im just backfilling. which one am i.
