Asking everyone why are they still actively playing Overwatch. I would like their own perspective

I’m just doing Custom Games & Arcade right now, no Quick Play at all until Season 6 comes out.
Only play the Hybrid game mode in arcade. That’s it
Valorant/CSGO = Slow, boring, peek corners and press left mouse button first too boring.
Apex = good but the camera controller and post processing make me nauseous
Fortnite = building walls and doors is tedious and dumb
CoD = im not a 19 year old stoner who wants to voice chat with other stoners
wolfenstien enemy territory and TF2 are the only other alternatives better then OW but they both need to be modernized and they likely never will.
overwatch is still the best choice because the heroes are fun to play, the horrible balance, matchmaking and blizzard just hold it back.

I finished ToTK, i play rainbow 6, im currently playing ff16
I dabble in deceive inc, SF6 just got updated so maybe ill actually like the new char and have a main :c

Only thing I do is the weekly challenges because I am at 930 I’m premium coins so if main gets a mythic for season 6 I can finally do a premium BP.
Cause ain’t no way I’m giving my cash to this shallow sequel.
Other than that decided to main Ashe this month in DM. Been improving and having fun with her in that mode.

It’s fun. Flat out i really just enjoy the game. Its still super fun. That alone is a good enough reason.
It’s a shooter with tons and tons of depth. It has like 36ish heroes with unique abilities that counter and interact with each other in very interesting ways. With so many heroes and combo’s of heroes it always feels fresh.
I can have a casual chill silly play session playing mystery heroes (god i love mystery heroes), or i can take it seriously and play comp. So i can play the game and have a godo time regardless of my mood.
Plus none of the other shooters on the market interest me much. I hate BR’s in general and they kinda took over the shooter landscape.

for me its about being comftorable and game knowledge. its probably becasue im an older guy but i been playing overwatch for the full 7 years since release. i am no pro or am i a high rank player but i know everything about the game and have most everything.
if i go play any other online game ill be the “new” player. like paladins is similar but i dont “own” all the heroes. never grinded enough to unlock them all or pay for it. i have a certain idea how it plays but i have no clue on how all the heroes work or deep knowledge of the game. the game is casual tho so i am sure i wont get “owned” most of the time
while other online competitive games are bit different especially different genres like battle royales or csgo type games. i get roflstomped on the rare occasions i “try” them out. like apex or fortnite. nothing on those games and they seem really deep but yea since i would be basically brand new i would have to grind game sense, knowledge and familiarity all the while being a punching bag to the vets there.
if i was a younger guy i would do it with enthusiam but being old im grumpy and ill be like “i want my overwatch back!.” so i just go back to playing this game since knowing so much about it lol

Not much playing, im more on “Observation” to see where this S***show is going.
5v5 and the new Ranked System took out all of the fun of the game for me and as long as those arent adressed im not actively playing.
Funnily enough i still did complete the BP because of Twitch Drops and getting “A bit of Fun” out of Open Q, since everyone plays atleast 2 Tanks there which is way more fun than Solo-Tanking, as a former tank main its so horrible i cant stand it.
But yeah, overall just eternally waiting for 6v6 to make a comeback. If it doesnt, atleast i have 6+ Years of good memories, but it will always leave a bad taste in my mouth to see how mismanaged Overwatch has gotten.

I like playing Overwatch. There is no comparable alternative and I hate Paladins and TF looks ugly sooooo.

I’m still spray hunting. Got Doomfist’s cute yesterday, and with the help of a forum member clarifying what to do, I got his pixel spray today. I still need Sojourn’s cute, the pixel for Kiriko & Zen, and both sprays for Bap. I know I’ve completed Junkerqueen’s pixel spray a few times, but that glitch has ruined it, so I’m still trying for that one.

How about you explain what exactly drew you to Overwatch 2 instead of every FPS available?
Every game is supposed to be fun. But strangely, some people prefer Quake to Unreal Tournament. And there are reasons for that. Reasons beyond “it’s fun”.
