Why are they putting 6v6 in open queue?

From the looks of it, it seemed like everyone wanted 2x2x2 not open queue, kinda just ruins it doesn’t it? Maybe I’m wrong

where did they say this?

If I had to guess it’s because they said themselves they want to return to the freedom of how Overwatch used to be since it has become largely more restricted in how games are played.

The real difficulty is balancing around tanks since I expect we’ll go back to like 5 tanks and a Moira again but they’re probably ready for that to happen lol

Where did you read this?

I guess it was more rumors than anything, maybe I should reword it

222 has already been identified as a failure, which is why OW abandoned it in the game being called OW2

i know of no good reason to return to known failure like 222

Because it’s probably like this:

yeah thats what I saw before

Lol, well, I made that graphic.

But yeah, the big 6v6 dev blog post heavily implied Open Queue with Role Limits.

Just not the specifics on those limits.

Can you please link some sources or is this just pure speculation

“Why not put various forms of 6v6 in the game in order to gauge the results? We agree, and based on your feedback, we’re exploring how we can test different forms of 6v6 in the game to gauge the results. This is taking some time, however, for reasons that may not be readily apparent.” taken directly from the blog. they will probably try open queue at some point but I dont really think a lot of people would like it

If 222 is a failure, open queue is even a bigger one considering 222 came to fix that one.

Goddess boobas I hope not Its a lot of work keeping 4 tanks up with Moira… add an extra one and im gonna need more energy pills and lube

We often tell them what we think is fun. And they like to define what they think is fun and profitable. Well, guess the shrinking player-base sends a louder message.

222 was not a fix for role-less queue

It was created to appease dps players, who are about 70 to 80 percent of the player population, when they demanded that someone (not them) play tanks and supports on their team

It created many severe problems, including but not limited to excessive queue times, and as far as i know solved no real problems

Meanwhile, roleless queue became the first and only mode ever restored to the game, about 6 months after it was removed when 222 infected the game, due to popular demand

How is making the dps players wait longer for matches “pleasing” them?

There were 2 big issues with open queue: tank stacking and dps stacking
222 fixed both of those.

First, no, neither of these were issues, and ergo 222 didnt “fix” them

Second, dps players demanding this change just wanted others tanking for them and healing them. They did not look ahead into the possible consequences of this demand. They did not want excessive queue times, but this was one of the problems their demands created

What a story, Mark.

Ofc they were issues. Did you miss all the complains about goats and 5 dps?

I wont be responding further to this side conversation given how the above is stated
