Forum full of fanboys and girls, I dont expect any different. They will back up the game they love no matter how bad it is…
OP no point in speaking on the forums, it shows how dead the game has come over just the last year. Look at YT, Twitch, and other mediums. Game is dead… Will die even quicker once Riots FREE game comes out…
What an interesting post that hasn’t been posted ever before on these forums
Speaking of free, I have no idea why Overwatch isn’t free yet. Maybe they planned to make it free when OW2 releases, but too late man… too late.
It’s probably because of production quality.
Gotta get them wages man, lootboxes ain’t enough.
It happened too many times before.
Not fan-mongering.
Just pointing out behaviors that Players in the paid leagues will do to ensure they can pay their rent. Don’t know where you interpreted fan-mongering in that statement
Smurfs and cheats, there’s certainly a perception, I don’t know how real, that free games are more susceptible to having games spoiled by such bad behaviour.
Because the game is stale, boring and uninteresting…
I know. OW still is one of the fews games that has skins that actually take effort to make, idea and execution wise. Skins in a lot of games are pretty much texture swaps (CS:GO, Apex) yet they still generate alot of money from that. If you play OW for a considerable amount of time, there is zero reason to even spend money on skins/boxes. You can get everything just by leveling up, getting dupes, and buying things with coins.
OW’s lootbox and monetary system being so “inoffensive”, is both it’s strength and their own undoing.

Hacking in an online game is like cracking a game.
They always find a way…
The competition has done its own fair share of stumbling to be fair.
This is a genre Riot are as new to as Blizz were with OW, don’t expect plain sailing. They’ve been a one trick pony until this point.

Hurts because it’s so true.
Also, I don’t mind the paid skins. I rather have more of those and make the game free. But obviously, improve you cheat detection Blizz…
It’s got nothing to do with content people, it’s all about opportunities.
Most of these people are ones who couldn’t make it into OWL (Kephrii, Gale, Wanted) or whose best days are behind them (TviQ, Taimou, Gods). Only real exception I’d make here is Sugarfree, who was still three years away from being eligible for OWL.
No surprise as to why streamers are leaving, they always follow the trends. As for T2 players though, the scene has not been well managed, lucrative opportunities are hard to come across.
When Blizzard, or any game developer and its game community, no longer provide fresh contents, people will get bored.
Take Team Fortress 2 as an example, the game hasn’t received a major update since the Pyro update. The reason why TF2 still strives is that the active constructive participation from the community side that keeps it going, and that being f2p does too.
Looking back at Overwatch, we only received 3 blank maps (Chamber, Expanse and Island) for custom games on year 3. Over the years, the balance team took favor for DPS players more often than the other 2 roles, which encourages people to leave. On the community side, high ranked players began smurfing and create troll accounts more frequently that ruin the gaming experience for the rest of the players.

Because this game for many, was only the go to game simply for the reason of not having a decent competitor. Now with the new game out, There’s no point in them wasting anymore time with overwatch.
But of course, if this new game turns out to be terrible, they’ll eventually come back.
Personally, there’s no point in playing the game right now since Overwatch 2 is practically in the horizon.
I assume OW2 will come out at around March or April next year if they announce the release date at Blizzcon on November.
To be fair they aren’t organizing sc2 pro scene
Because of the OW league structure, only a very small number of players actually get to play competitively. The majority of pro-ow gamers are warming the bench or fighting for a spot in T2/T3 which pays like minium wage (if they’re lucky). Plus no one watches T2 or T3 so what’s the point in sweating blood for no pay.
