Why are OW standards so high?

Unless you’re praising every player in the match, pretty much anything you say is consiered as abusive. That’s not obvious stuff like F-bombs, but even “switch” or “no” are seen as such. Probably PG-13 swear words, being spoken by characters in the game are as well (like Cassidy sometimes saying “damn it” after taking damage). Basically anything that isn’t saying nice the players are, is gonna get you in trouble.

If it makes you feel better, no one is going to report you for saying ‘Damn it’. Pretty much the only thing you can’t do is berate other players. I know, a truly impossible task.

In trouble from who? Just don’t take out your anger on players and you’ll be fine.

Also, sometimes players will reject your requests. People can ultimately do what they want.

I talk trash pretty regularly and I’ve never been banned in 5 years of playing.

I’ve also never told someone “switch” and expected them to listen to me. There are way better things to focus on than hero selection anyway, like which route you’re taking, whether you’re flanking too much or not enough, target prioritization, etc.

Try not to get mad at other players for how they play the game. I’m sure they could do lots better, and so could you, and so could the other team. Just focus on what you can do, and you’ll win more games, and flame others less.

Because a few reasons, some of them are the way Blizzard hides information and “rewards” the players with medals, creating an inflated ego that can’t handle criticism.

With Private Profiles and no Scoreboards, you can’t pretty much see anything of their experience, stats and current performance in game, so that “boosts” people to believe they are contributing just as much.

Now we have Replays, so we can see after a match what exactly happened but that doesnt help much besides self improvement. Im praying OW2 does have Scoreboards but since this has not been announced and should be a top priority with HIGH importance … I dont think its gonna happen.
