Why almost everybody instalocks dps

Your games are easy.

I used overtracker to get all the important metrics
Most matches I lost hard are matches in which your DPS have a K/D of something like 2/8 (high gold), always on the flank, not once with the team.

As support I loose around 24-28SR in these matches, as a DPS (Soldier) 16-18

Because you’re in gold. That rank is for the mechanically disabled (trouble with wasd and gamesense). Combine that with inflated egos who listen to people like me who say this exact thing and now you have supreme irony: a gold rank instalocking dps thinking he can carry himself out of gold.

You play Lucio. You can literally boop soldier or McCree off high ground.

D: we’re not all like this. I agree bad tanks are a pain, bur we’re not all bad. Besides, without us you’d get crushed in no time

By then the people reading this post are like well I just have to instalock dps and I’ll do a better job, and they don’t do a better, but they look at their stats and go I have all gold’s, think they’re good, never swap off, then more people lake post like this

I’ve yet to meet somone who has carried themselves through the ranks to top 500 in solo queue as a tank. DPS just makes more of an impact and don’t really need to blind trust the team as much.

lies. gold has the majority of the player base. because of hidden mmr, there are players with maters level mechanics that have 800+ levels of play in gold.

the main problem is that SR has so little representation of actual skill. Anyone that says players in gold, plat, etc all have the same skill is delusional.

You sure you meant to respond to me? None of those points are mine. Same skill…what??

Was playing Moira in those games. Was solo healer. But my Lucio record is actually a lot better with him season to date. Maybe just one trick him? Might make my team mates less inclined to stand out in the open 1v6 and expect to stay up…

People instalock dps because dps is fun. I’ve been a career tank main in every game I’ve played. It can be fun BUT not this season.

Reaper has been buffed, Hanzo reworked, Mei buffed…all 3 are tank busters. Not to mention that dps love to flank. This leaves tanks/support kinda defenseless. Ever try to 1v1 a reaper or hanzo with rein, and how does that go? Not good.

Tank mains are disappearing because it’s not fun to get stunned by doomfist, mccree, brigette…frozen, or just shotgunned to the face or storm arrowed. Its blizzards fault for releasing anti-tank patches (or at least what feels like that). People play what’s fun, and right now dps is really all that’s fun. I still play tank, but it takes commitment to deal with the current state of the game.

Dps are fun to play and rewarding. Tanks and healers are not so much. Plus only really intense healer in the game is Ana, and she both severely underpowered and overly team reliant to the point of being inferior pick.

I’d say it’s situational.

Any situation where wall climbing, speed boosting your team, or booping (Illios Well, for example) can be helpful is where Lucio can do some work. He can also headshot, so you definitely can (and should) help your DPS clean up kills.

In many ways Lucio is a support first, healer second.

Any scenario where you need raw healing output is where Moira is better.

If the situation calls for (more) ranged healing, then both heroes are much harder to pull off as they are both close ranged healers.

Healers are NOT fun to play and are designed poorly which is one reason. Tanks are kinda along the same lines. Especially Rein

Because noone really cares about the team component. People just want to shred other people. It’s everywhere the same. There might be some people who care, but most of them don’t. It’s simple and easy.

I can see how healers and tanks are boring to play but they are the most important roles in Overwatch. But how are they poorly designed? Each hero has a unique kit and can be played differently.
