Who rightfully got canned because of his lack of maturity, by the way.
Heck, even Pharah can give her a good run for her money if she doesn’t get too close.
I agree for tanks and supports (mostly Lucio) she is a different ball of wax, but we have to take it in stride and have faith that Blizzard knows what they are doing and why they are doing it.
sombra meta wont happen because pros, get used to it
“Pro Players” is a category that included XQC. The game is less than two years old and the difference between pro and high-level pub players is basically just a paycheck. Putting so much weight on their feedback is only going to enable a stagnant meta that becomes uninteresting to watch very quickly.
They are litteraly trying to give feedback to blizzard to stop dive. But hey whatever happens we will have a stagnant meta.
Watching Contenders. Sombra is pretty popular. Teams running solo tank. Zen’s hiding to trance when the EMP comes in. Isn’t to my taste for viewing. Would rather sit on dive for the next 6 months than watch this.
When it comes to playing, as a tank player it’s pretty frustrating. Much worse than playing against good Genjis/Tracers. Used to paying an inordinate amount of attention to empty spaces to watch for flankers and not being able to kill them, but Sombra rendering you to nothing but an ult battery every time she gets close makes it really unfun to play.
Fortunately she’s not in every game atm so it’s bearable. I’m not so concerned with whether she’s OP or omni-picked - Just don’t want to feel consistently useless as a tank player. It’s the nature of her kit rather than the strength of it for the most part.
but we interact with the community as often as possible! i mean it’s every other week or even a month or so, but we do!
if they’re going to chat regularly with pro players they can chat regularly with the community. on the forums. you know, the ones they made.
If you think an silence, auto aim,. 65 second ability cast time, 8 second cooldown, on a character that has the ability to be anywhere with her own get of jail free card is balanced then you have to be delusional. Straight up delusional.
You cannot stop the hack. You cannot prevent. It doesn’t matter where you are if Sombra wants to hack you she will hack you and you will die in aire team fight.
Sombra makes Tanks irrelevant to the game. If she stays like this then people will stop play tank in order to somewhat counter her. That or Sombra will be in every game because the only thing that counters Sombra is another Sombra.
She isn’t just not OP, she isn’t even good by any metric.
She is an easy to counter, highly team reliant hero.
Getting hacked is nowhere near a death sentence.
And you highly exaggerate the tank issue.
Like most of what you wrote is just not true.
Skill only makes a pro. Knowledge of the game can be for everyone. It isn’t rocket science here. This isn’t a thing that is a “takes a pro to know it” ideal.
The only things the pros know is that they are getting paid big money to play a game to win in. Hence win. They don’t care about us millions of casuals who play the game religiously, are complete fans and pretty much make the entirety of the game. These “pros” only care about their records. They don’t know anymore on the game as opposed to everyone else.
This is absolutely ridiculous. With this line of logic, people who aimbot can be as good as someone in OWL. Game knowledge is EXTREMELY important when it comes to professional play. Intimately knowing each character and their strengths and weaknesses is necessary when working in a team and who to target at specific times.
well due to latency in this game ive had multiple, yes multiple already, situations where im around a corner, behind a wall, behind a shield, and even in spawn and sombra has hacked me through them. not only does she hack really really fast, but its got long range too, and some heroes cant even attack in .6 seconds due to them being projectile heroes
Every one against sombra is op is about she can be interrupt by one bullet but all of them are ignoring of the fact that theres human reaction time and latency and the 0.1 or 0.2 s hack register before the hack fully finish. the Mean reaction time for human beings is 0.25s as i know, which you can have 0.2 second to seek for the somber when she is hacking and shoot at him. Make sense.
Burst her down as a soldier ? sombra will definite have the first attack and kill the soldier first as they are having close dps
only mcree is having a chance to shut down sombra before getting kill. if you use sombra and lose to a soldier or mcree in 1V1 situation everytime, you definitely being outplayed.
or just look at the pick and win ratios… sombra is fine
I’m against the whole “Sombra is OP” notion because she’s NOT.
She has a mechanic that’s frustrating to play against, and I agree they should remove the .1 second leniency.
But, god. People are suggesting some DUMB AF nerfs, like adding a cooldown for a failed hack - effectively butchering her to a lower state than she was pre-buff.
You know who gives me trouble as Sombra?
McCree. He kills me a lot. Stun = guaranteed kill.
Moira. She zones me out, sustains herself pretty well, and I can’t stealth around her cause she’ll disrupt it.
Winston. He zones me out pretty damn hard.
Soldier. If he puts his healing station down, he can outdamage me pretty well, while also sustaining himself well with heals.
Junkrat. Burst damage is pretty harsh to go against, especially when you have to get close enough to do consistent damage in a range where he can burst you down with grenades + mine.
Brigitte. She’s not released on live yet, but she zones me out well. If I hack her, armor is crappy for Sombra to damage through. If she’s in hack range, it’s easy for Brigitte to get into melee-range, and start smacking Sombra around.
There’s counterplay there. The .1 second leniency should be removed, and that’ll make for more consistent counterplay from heroes like Reinhardt, Tracer, etc.
But the Sombra is OP thing brings up garbage arguments that were applicable to Sombra before the buff, yet no one had an issue then. And statistics do not indicate any sign of being OP.
No, you are the one who is delusional. Hack is far from a death sentence and to be unstoppable in applying it Sombra has to use all of her cooldowns. And even then a random stray bullet may stop it. All stats show she is still one of the worst heroes in the game while the tanks are doing fine.
Whine doesn’t mean that much. Blizz won’t nerf a hero until she / he is dominating the pickrates, which is not the case for Sombra at the moment. We can talk about the Nerf after the next stage of OWL when Sombra gets or doesn’t get a high pickrate. We’ll see, so chill.
in the scenarios you provided, most of them are killing you with their skills used, which looks like that you are engaging the fight in a wrong time.
i aggree that moria is difficult to kill, but you still can charge your ult safely without dying
for winson, there is still way you can deal with. i watch on stream real time that PVPTwitch know the winson jump on him and he instantly hack a health pack and kill the winson using the pack and translocator kiting him.
Same as other so called OP character, sombra also need your mechanical skill and game sense to work. After sombra buff in GM/ master level, if theres a good sombra there definitely need a sombra to counter her, otherwise its gonna lose a game. this is what i see in stream for 5 hrs per day after patch.
So how do you counter a good Tracer and Sombra? Why would you hack Tracer instead of tanks and healers? The fact that Sombra can counter Tracer and Genji doesn’t mean she will (and in most game I played against good Sombra they don’t).
if a tracer is carring the whole team, why not hacking her and crush the enemy team? This is the game sense in prioritize the most game changing hero
