Which Hero has the best and the worst personality

Hard to pick a best. Ana, D.Va, Tracer, Sombra, Mercy and Genji are all candidates. Easy to pick a worst. Kiriko all day everyday.

Ooh, bold take. How do you figure? The other 2 I can see, but Moira is brimming with this haunting feeling, that feeling of endangerment around her. I like her tinge of sarcasm and generally unamused comments like “It thrills me to answer your inquiries, doctor. It THRILLS me.” and "I should expect such a narrow opinion coming from a jumped. up. ape. "

Ball has the best Tank personality, but Ramattra comes close. On DPS I personally think Tracer, because I like the positivity. I also like Sym. On Support it’s Ana.

Now for the worst.

Dva, of course. But Doom honestly ties. I don’t like him as a character. His voice is annoying too, which makes it that much worse. On DPS, Widow, because she tries WAY too hard to be a badass. But also Mei, because she tries so hard to be cute. Bonus points to Hanzo who has the personality of a brick. On Support it’s Lucio. Maybe an unpopular opinion, but he’s so basic. I also don’t like Lifeweaver’s for the most part, but I’m giving him a pass because of “It’s not embarrassing if you’re shameless”.

Lifeweaver is my new favorite personality. He’s self confident without being too much and his little quips I find funny.

“I’d heal that, but
 you know.”
“Thorns in the face are an inconvenience.”
“A little care always helps!”

He feels like the extrovert that would adopt an introvert to help them get their confidence up to me.

Baptiste is a favorite of mine for similar reasons, self confidence with just the right amount of cockiness.

So. Best:

  1. Lifeweaver
  2. Baptiste
  3. Lucio - Another fellow who feels like an extrovert who adopts an introvert.
  4. Zenyatta - I love his silly remarks to remain mysterious to whoever asks what he used to do.
  5. Junker Queen - We love a vengeful Queen! Her cinematic was great.

Honorable Mentions:
Zarya for Ow2 - Wow! They gave her more personality than just being a body builder!
Ramattra - Kind to those who deserve it, Hostile to those who don’t.

Worst:

  1. Kiriko (She’s WAY too cocky/arrogant)
  2. Doomfist (OW1 - I actually prefer his OW2 personality since they made him appropriately cynic)
  3. Soldier: 76 (Ow2 - Amplified his “old soldier” stereotype a bit intensely
)
  4. D.Va (Ow2 - Amplified her “gamer” stereotype too much. Her OW1/Cinematic personality was better)
  5. Mercy (Ow2 - Again, amplified one aspect of her person way too much. She’s more than just a doctor.)

Dishonorable Mentions
Sojourn - She still feels a bit dry/bland as a character. I feel like the best thing about her is her “Eugh! Don’t give me that decaf!” voiceline.

Best ones:

Winton, Ana, LĂșcio, Ramattra

Worst ones:

D.Va and Mercy in OW2. They’ve took their worst aspects and amped them to the skies. When she goes “Have you tried bandaging your mouth?” or “Thank my medical pRofeSsioNaLisM, doctor!” then i just want to say “shut up” to her.

First off OP, Dvas personality is fake and she cultivated as she is a high profile streamer. The real Hana is nothing like that.

Best: Reinhardt. Yes, Erin I would like to see your muscles. How kind of you to offer.

Worst: Reaper. Unless you are a twelve year old virgin his edgelord ba is pure cringe.

Therapists are fond of saying:

‘Confidence looks like arrogance to those without it’

The boys really telling on themselves over Kiriko.

And yet I think Lifeweaver and Baptiste have the perfect amount of confidence without being excessively cocky.

Kiriko is too arrogant. Voice lines like:
“What did we learn?”
“You need a scope to do that?”
“How far was that?”
“Let’s send a message.”
“Come on, Shimada
” < this one, actually, isn’t that bad.

She sounds a bit full of herself. They could easily reword or- even make her voice different for those lines to sound confident without being arrogant. But its in the tone of the delivery that makes them
 cringe.

Like, for example. An arrogant sounding voiceline of Lifeweaver’s is:
“Thorns in the face are an inconvenience
” but the delivery sounds playful.
“Everybody loses sometimes!” Again, the delivery sounds more playful.

The voice actress’s delivery on Kiriko makes her sound high and mighty as opposed to playfully mocking.

It’s all about the ~tone.~ The tone of her voice is not “confidence”.

Best: Oh lord where to begin? There’s so many heroes that just make me smile by simply being who they are, but if I have to choose one I guess it’s Bastion. Despite being a literal warmachine with more firepower than 90% of the roster, he’s arguably the most innocent of them all. Not only that, but he exudes so much personality in spite of being unable to speak outside of beeps and boops. It’s basically Snow White meets the Iron Giant.

Honorable mentions:

  • Mei
  • Reinhardt
  • Lucio
  • Winston
  • Tracer

Worst is easily Hanzo, and it’s not even close. This guy is just completely unlikeable; he constantly brags about how skilled he is, and when he doesn’t he just wallows in how nobody has it worse than him. Because he “killed” his brother and lost his family empire. All of which he could have avoided. All the while having sounding like he wants to emulate every samurai/shogun stereotype in the book. If anyone likes this guy outside of how he plays, please explain why. And if it’s just because he’s hot then it doesn’t count.

Honorable mentions:

  • D.va
  • Sombra
  • Moira
  • Maybe Kiriko, she’s on the edge for me

I think other heroes do the dark, brooding, unamused thing better (widow, reaper)
maybe it’s the voice itself
.which is strange cause I love the voice actress
she just comes across as bland to me :man_shrugging:t2:

Best personality, Moira.

Also some of the best voicelines.

UNASSAILABLE PROWESS!

I’ll never understand these “Kiriko is too cocky” arguments when that’s been D.Va’s default personality for 7 years.

“But the short showed that D.Va’s actually really serious because she knows her hometown depends on her”. Yeah, but that also describes Kiriko.

I don’t understand the double standard.

I liked Moira until they just kept letting her get the “last word” in interactions, as if she always has a good point or something.

I was pleasantly surprised in OW2 when Zarya of all people was one of the few people to call out her nonsense.

But she does

Same saccharine tongue, same empty head .

She is good but I am hoping we get some character development over time. She would be a great candidate for an animated short.

Sometimes she does. Not as often as the game makes it seem, though.

I like that he apparently wants to ride Orisa into battle. Does that count?

For best, Lucio, LifeWeaver, Sombra, Bap, Roadhog. All have lines and interactions that really describe who they are as a character. Roadhog probably does this the best with he delivery-like one or two words and you kinda get his business.

Honorable mentions, Moira, Symm, Junkrat, Cassidy. Again some decent interactions-though some only really shine between certain characters than the whole roster.

For worst, D.Va, Sojourn, Kiriko, Bastion. Really it’s all because they’re fairly one note. I can’t really recall anything spectacular about them or their interactions.

Dishonorable mentions, Echo and Zarya. They have something a bit more than the others but still I can’t distinguish what exactly their personality is.

its not about goals, motives, or actions its about personality.

I get that, but we hardly if ever see the “real hana” its always the annoying dva personality, In game or out. shes annoying, obnoxious, and unlikeable with zero redeeming qualities.

Oh I see. In that case, I like Tracer and dislike Zen :eyes:
