and the narrative lore is the picture, not the ages blizzard says, cause those dont make sense lorewise at all. the picture was in a cinematic, making it lore.

Nah, it’s more like how you take that picture shown in the Ana trailer, that has a lot of problems (Ana’s age, Soldier’s age, Cassidy’s age), not only the Pharah-Mercy thing, but you decide to focus just one that.
Also, something similar happened to the Kiriko trailer, where in that photo the age difference between Kiriko and Genji looks about 5 years, when in canon, it’s 16 years, making it more ridiculous than the photo shown in the Ana trailer. This one (Kiriko’s age) I think you just ignore.
For both photos, the reason is probably that the team didn’t have the time/lore planned that clear.
Also, they probably met each other about when Pharah was a pre teen/teen (cuz in canon lore it’s never explicit the exact time of that photo), then they didn’t have any type of interaction till adulthood, and even then they just part ways and in canon, they recently are working together along other OW members. Btw, you don’t need to romantically like someone the very first time you meet them, doesn’t even happen IRL.
A bunch of the original writers quit the Overwatch team and one of their replacements had a vendetta against mercy+genji shippers so he personally deleted all of them from the game

I dont ignore kirikos age, but again, genji isnt trying to date her. the age gap is important because its a full grown woman, and a girl. Genji may be 5 years older than kirko(would make sense anyway, since they trained together), but the more important thing is hes not trying to DATE HER.

the real lore is in the cinematics and game, not whereever your getting this info, Pharah was clearly a kid when mercy met her. making it even grosser. Its like padme and anakin, and dont get me started about that.

That old photo of Cassidy, Pharah and Mercy in her locker in that old comic. The more recent interactions between all members during the canon invasion missions, the comic between Pharah and Bap where she says Mercy didn’t said goodbye to her, etc.

Yes, and that’s basically the plot of the comic between Pharah and Bap, making it almost explicit that Pharah does have a crush on Mercy, but never clear if Mercy knew that, or how she responded to that.
Would agree only if Ana was killed and Mercy somehow was her mother figure, that wasn’t the case, at some point in the future after that photo, Ana has the encounter with Widow and Ana is declared dead (not remember the exact time, but it was years in the future).
We don’t even have much lore between Pharah and Mercy when they took that photo when Mercy visited OW after her parents death.
it doesnt matter whose parets is whose. Mercy is like an honorary aunt, because she and ana were close friends in the war(which again doesnt make sense if shes only 5 years older than pharah, cause then ana could be considered a creep.)

also this is unrelated, but I dont like how overwatch does inclusion anymore. I feel like if a hero is to be part of a minority, they should be part of it from the start. Like tracer or Lw. Pharahs change in a random comic that half the playerbase didnt read feels like a petty way to be “inclusive”, just to shut people up. idk, maybe im wrong, but thats how I feel.
And that’s why I also said that if they are making the Pharmercy ship, then Mercy needed some kind of lore thing in that comic/event too (June). But again, nothing related to that for Mercy in June, making the Pharmercy ship a big -1 in terms of future canon. If they wanted to make Pharmercy, june was the clear chance, if next year in june they say Mercy now likes Pharah, WITHOUT any type of comic explaining how her feelings developed over time, yes, I would be mad.
Also, with the most recent Karaoke interaction (yes I know in-game interactions arent most of the time canon), it gives a somewhat rivality between Pharah and Genji for Mercy’s love when Pharah sings: “Mercy in my pocket”…“even Genji can’t seem to block it” or something like that.
Again for the aunt thing, don’t really think unless we got more lore showing interactions between Mercy and Pharah when they were young, but even in that photo Mercy wasn’t officialy part of OW, she was just visiting them, and it’s not even clear if she did visit them regularly, or even if Pharah was also present in those future visits, etc.
That was a recent in-game interaction when Pharah uses the microphone and sings in that one map (I dont rememeber the map name), use youtube to hear it by yourself.
For the comic, Pharah is probably sad that she isn’t with Mercy, it’s never clear if Pharah declared, or how Mercy responded.
dang it pharah, just shoot your dang shot. sure shes like your aunt, sure shes probably in love with genji, just cause that actually makes sense, but if you have a book devoted to you felling sad about it… its kinda pathetic…
Well, to be honest, that story isn’t 100% about Pharah having a crush on Mercy, the comic was more about how Bap is integrating with OW, and thinking at first Pharah has a relationship with Cassidy, but Pharah says to Bap that she’s a lesbian, which surprises Bap, then Bap explaining about how he’s bi and other things, and at some moment Bap mentions Mercy (I think) and it says all the things I wrote.
That one piece of art from 2016 is not the end all be all for lore, how one artist chose to depict characters in a random photograph does not trump what the actual lore and narrative team have stated multiple times as being canon. Sorry that you want to hold on to an 8 year old painting to justify your weird dislike of a ship in a video game

Doubtful. Mercy was excited to see Pharah in the PvE reunion cinematic that released during Invasion and there are excerpts from both Pharah and Mercy’s PoV thinking about eachother from the lore-journal entries you unlock from completing the different PvE missions.
