I really like lucio as a character and all, and I don’t think he’s op because he gives less heals. but I don’t think I could make a team comp of characters who don’t greatly benefit from speed boost.

When the meta shifts, such that Orisa comps are vulnerable to Dive.
But lucio is still good in dive and was a part of it right?

Fair point, but either way, when damage boost is worth having.
And when Zenyatta can reasonably charge up his ultimate.
Also when Genji/Tracer get back into the meta.
When the meta favors Sombra.

Tracer and genji still benefit from being the faster tracer/genji. The only heroes I can think of who really don’t prefer a lucio are Hammond and pharah and I guess by extension kinda mercy too. Maybe sombra and/or widow would be cool without it? But I can’t think of a second tank or healer
As a sombra player I fear the nerfs they’d give her a week after that happened.
He works great with most heroes … the problem is only people do not know how to play with speedboost.

Bunker didn’t use Lucio. It used Baptiste and Ana if I remember correctly
I hope for it cause then she might help Genji(it will be 50/50 of course. She will help, but screw him also, but as long as she can hack people and help him with the damage it’s fine by me).
Static defensive comps like bunker generally benefit more from a support other than Lucio. He can be used, but you’re missing out on utility that benefits a stationary comp.

Ok thank you. I think I was taking a break from playing when that was meta. It just seems like I’d basically always want him in that off-healer slot and even when he’s the second best option.
In dive. If you could only use one. Zen’s discord provided more to a dive comp then lucios speed boost. In early stages of dive, both were used though.
When the enemy team is running double main healers and we’re lacking on sustain.
If we need Harmony orb to make sure that Widowmaker way over there gets her daily dose of yellow.
Or if its a team of lots of moving parts, usually involving animals.
Or if we could really use some damage with range. Unfortunately, those are usually also Rein comps, and you need Lucio for those.

We need more heroes with speed boost.
Lucio makes no sense in Dive, a team full of mobility abilities doesn’t need speed boost - old school Lucio only saw play because he had 30m on his aura.

Pharah / Bastion comps are poor choices for Lucio.
Other than that he’s good, as long as you have enough heals over all for whatever you are running.
Not true. Lucio rework happened sometime in season 4. All of season 5 was dive with lucio post rework. So he didnt have 30m then, and saw a ton of play. I will agree I dont think he would be as good in a dive now than he was over 2 yrs ago, mainly due to changes in the game, there being more supports, mercy being much better in dive after her rework etc.
Why would you NOT want a froggy boi who looks at their team and says it’s great, is completely chill, and also has an epic DJ emote?

Bunker. He’s actually really bad in it and the only reason he’s played right now is because his synergy with Reaper is ridiculous.
