You know it’s sad, when a mediocre character is looked into with a bunch of changes, that are so bad, that people would rather keep the character as is
It’s so rushed. Feels horrible. 6 meter “team” fade is worse than immortality field and so situational so f*ing hard to land and throw inducing it’s crazy
It almost feels like Moira is their conquest to prove they can take something very controversial and turn it into something everyone likes. I blame the community, streamers and forum goers alike. We screech and screech about balance and “fun” and “dont let it be braindead” and Blizzard is like “Let’s make something everyone likes and enjoys because that’s our image!”
Big xoxo no way michael scott from me.
Never, hopefully. Tbh, they can keep their “Utility fade” and leave it be. The rest of the Changes can go through, don’t mind those.
I mean if you take a character, who was already pretty mediocre, and change them in ways that wont do anything to make them better and only more annoying or uninteresting to play by removing specific ways people have gotten used to, then that’s a failure
Right but the ideas we’ve seen have predominantly come from the community and been echoed through various outlets. HOWEVER, I totally get as developers they should pull their heads from their backsides and use their own drawing board…
The we’re setting g to go in the right direction to increase her skill floor and give her impactful plays but they missed the mark all the same.
Having barriers delete the orb needs to go. At the very least, have barriers block damage orbs and have it bounce. I get that the delete aspect was because the 2 bounce rule was in effect and having bounce off and disappear seemed redundant, but it is also unintuitive to the player.
Keep the changes to damage orb the same but give Moira her utility in her orbs. The damage orb should come with a damage debuff. The attached target and anyone hit by the AoE have their damage rebuffed for 2s.
Have her heal orb also attach, only bounce once, and cleans stuns / silence on initial contact. It would necessitate less healing output but gives her more utility as well.
Finally, her Fade should give vertical mobility too. This will allow Moira to reach team mates at high ground positions and also allow her to get more angles to work from with her orbs.
I hope not, if you want Moira to need to aim more give her more self heal. I like the 8 seconds cooldown if it means 1second invulnerability to everyone. The damage orb I’m not particularly fond of. Although I liked the fact that it attached to an enemy. I didn’t like the way it gets destroyed if it is passing through shields and only 1 bounce. Make it 2/3 bounces instead and not get destroyed when passing shields.
I don’t understand what your position is
Would you like for Blizzard to make more skilled heroes or what? Honest question.
Honestly just leave her alone until OW2, focus on something else for now. She’s not a pressing problem.
I don’t know what my position is, because it spans across a few opinions. Of course I want them to have high skill ceilings, but I also don’t want them to be awkward and invert the play style of a pre-existing character. I’m not sure where your question comes from, exactly. My points here are exclusive to Moira, in this circumstance… so… where is the question being drawn from?
Moira is a easy to use hero. She will never get a positive reception.
Unless they rework her to make her sort of hard to use but with a completely perfect kit with a ult on a cooldown ability like Ana.
Just remove all support tbh and let teams rock 2 Anas
Yeah, this needs more time in the oven. This is a really bad version of the Moira changes; the primary fire is a pure nerf, the reworked orb is so gutted it’s totally useless, and the fade team utility is wonky and not valuable enough to compensate for any of the nerfs. If they push this through, Moira will be so far down in F tier she’ll be unplayable. She might even end up worse than Brigitte.
I mean, Moira can’t compete with Ana now, she’s really not going to compete with massive nerfs.
Im fine with the right click aim nerf, im not fine with the damage orb, you might as well just remove it of they wanted to nerf it that bad
sadly I dont think they will push it to live, the main reason is the clunky animation from dmg orb, that’s a dead giveaway of how confident they are about this change, I do expect another experimental with Moira changes in the future though, perhaps one where the orb is polished enough and then those will be pushed to live
For a second I thought someone necro’d a post lol
Anyway, my guess is Thursday, maybe the week after.
If her fade were to cleanse antinade, she would be the best counter in the game to Ana, and the only support counter. And considering how meta Ana’s been, that alone would make Moira a strong competitor.
I do wish they kept the cleanse.
Otherwise, I really like the direction they’re going with Fade, and I’m not too upset by the beam nerf. Doesn’t change too much for me, as together the Grasp nerf and Fade buff equal each other out regarding her low-aim skillset.
The orb is is a different matter. I found it fun, but I don’t think it’s quite the right change.
I mean, the nerfs annoy me because Moira is objectively terrible, and doesn’t need nerfs in any way. Hell, she needs buffs.
They probably will. I don’t want it either, but the devs don’t listen to reason. They probably see it as a buff, lol.
Moira’s always been extremely strong in low ranks. And the beam nerf won’t impact her in high ranks. I think it’s the right call, but I do agree she needs more in her kit. Hence the Fade changes.
