In the biography of Echo we learned Overwatch assigned Jesse McCree to guard Mina Liao. The last time we see McCree with his left arm is in Uprising comic.
If McCree lost his left arm when Mina Liao died, he lost his left arm 7-5 years ago.

he almost certainly lost the arm after leaving overwatch, given the voiceline he has with Torb: McCree?? what happened to your arm?

Didnt Torb leave soon after uprising? Cause i believe Mccree didnt and maybe mccree left after he lost his arm
we dont have a clear timeline for when torb left. we know that reinhardt was forcibly benched in the year between uprising + Storm rising. Even then, Rein was still part of the organization, just unable to participate in missions.

Echo doesn’t know what happened to his arm - so he must have lost it after Echo was put into quarantine.
Torbjorn doesn’t know what happened to his arm - so he must have lost it after leaving Overwatch.
That means he lost his arm sometime in the last 5 years since Overwatch fell.

again, he was benched for some unknown reason, but kept within the organization. the organization itself lasted for a year after the explosion that “”"“killed”""" reyes and morrison.
He probably lost it when he was drunk and forgot to throw away the flashbang.
