You know, balance. As in, “tone down overperforming ones, buff weak ones”. Make everyone viable.
Because at the moment:
- Rein-Zarya is an absolute must-pick tank comp. Other tanks are so weak you might as well delete them. Except for Ball-Dva. They are good for last second stall on Hanamura. But that’s it.
- Genji is uncontested. His mobility has no propper counter (since we’ve nerfed CC across the board, not that it helped against him anyway), his damage is superior to all other heroes, and he’s a flanker with better CQC damage than Reaper. The last hero who was better than any hero in his cast was Moth Mercy.
- Supports are as imbalanced as tanks. Only Ana is allowed to be good, the rest got nerfed so much or left irrelevant for so long it’s amazing. Especially with Genji buffs, good luck getting another Zen main in your team.
It’s not even “balance changes”, it’s “favoritism” at the moment. At least a year or two ago there were attempts of balancing. Now it’s just “here’s a list of heroes we like and don’t like, make sure their strength stays accordingly”.
