Exactly, these forums are a tiny echo chamber if anything. People perceive the ideas here as gospel when in reality there are too many biases, ideas and desires to sift through. So the loudest minority typically wins, which normally goes in the order of:
Pro Players
Content Creators
Top 500
We can argue all day about whether or not that is good for the game, but it’s worked in keeping the game alive since it’s been released and we wouldn’t be getting a sequel otherwise.
I’d also like to mention that it’s okay be upset about a video game, I’ve been guilty myself of making threads that serve no purpose on here (continuing the echo chamber) but I’m trying to do better at giving constructive criticism.
For the PTR/Experimental, there just isn’t enough curiosity, incentive or care to drive people to play them so past the first day, people don’t really mess with those modes or in the worst case consider a few hours of playtime as definitive proof that something is a). broken or b.) balanced.
There have been threads in the past addressing this debacle but my hope is that in OWL 2 they start to fix that issue. In most cases, a lot of things are waiting to be fixed in OWL 2 which is why I don’t really care about balance until then.
