maybe im just surrounded by a bubble of happeness and rainbows, but ive only ever seen one instance of a women playing the game and being harassed. and we all reported the guy and moved on
ive had em in my games alot as of recent, and no one starts trolling we just play.
How exactly can someone “sound fat?”
Any biological women (real women) I talk to never say they have much of a problem with people in game. Usually people who are jerks to one are just jerks to all.
I don’t use a mic so it’s the same as a male player, I do feel like little kids are treated terrible in this game though.
oh totally like i try to be nice to them when i encounter them but it has to suck to be the kid placed with a group of grown men who blame them for losing.
kids can adn will run circles around us older folk and like. continually have in terms of video games. they can be immature sometimes and thats usually when i have to draw the line for me and join an 18+ group…but like. its a video game, kids are allowed to play it.
ikr i see a lot of kids get shutdown when trying to talk or use there mic
as for i have a mic but dont talk im too shy

I describe it as a deeper bubbly kind of voice.
Idk. They equated my deeper lady voice with what they thought my weight was. Which like… Reachy but whatever
I love voice chat.
The range of my voice is a bit wide, as I can change the tone of my voice with quite the ease. My usual one is kind of ‘deep’ so no one mistakes me for a kid unless I laugh.
The only times I got harassment were from underage people so I didn’t take it into heart for obvious reasons. Still, never truly bothered me anyway and I recall like, two times maybe ? I am playing this game since July 2016.
I am not afraid to use voice chat. In fact, I try to make my teammates use it because EU has a lot of different cultures in the servers. A lot of people avoid it mainly because they are shy over their accent rather than because of gender. Ask any French and Russian players.
What is this girl you talk about? Girls don’t exist.

I don’t know how somebody would tie voice type/volume to physical characteristics and not be trolling. In terms of vocal performance, a girl can be drop- dead gorgeous and be on the lower end of the vocal spectrum. I was in choir for a while, that was definitely true there.
Honestly, it sounds like you met one of those blanks who wanted to make something out of nothing and picked your voice because he had no brain between his ears.
Like… Those insults don’t work because I know what I look like hahaha. I know whether I am or not. Some rando calling me the c word does not

so OP basically playing overwatch as a girl is the same as playing it as a dude, but sometimes certain players have the behavior flaw “creepy” or “raging misogynist” equipped and then we’re exposed to toxicity, sexism flavored.
for a helpful tip for guys here, on if what you’re saying is creepy or not, imagine if a gay guy said it to you in the same situation. and tell me if you’d be ok with it, if you’d be annoyed by it, or be directly weirded out by it.

exactly! hence my final statement. if you think youd be weirded out if a gay guy you didnt know outside of your overwatch game at the moment said it to you, chances are she’ll be weirded out too.

i’m a dude that gets hit on by other dudes over voice com, sometimes they are aggressive sometimes they try to smooth talk me.
it’s kind of disturbing.
Oh yeah we just swoon when we’re trying to win a game and someone sees it as a good time to be weird and awkward towards someone they’re probably never going to actually meet instead of concentrating on the actual game.
