What to do against hog as dps

hog main here, if the hog is just bullying your tank, just ignore him kill everyone else first while staying out of range of hook or if you play close range characters only go in after he uses hook. if he’s running you down instead of fighting the tank or after he’s killed your tank just shoot him, almost every dps does more damage than he and his supports can heal the best he can do is run away while healing and if he runs away you can go back to shooting anyone but the hog. hope that helps :slight_smile:

edit: its important as closer ranged character to stay out of his effective range when shooting him, what im saying is dont hug his face even as reaper he will 2 shot you. also dont run into traps

edit again: i thought it was important to mention that as a hog main im more scared of supports than dps, as all they can do to push me back is shoot me tracking their cd’s is way less important
also hog is super susceptible to cc, i dont know about post patch but before just junk or pharah spamming shots on him was enough to make hogs miss most their hooks

he’s unkillable with the new headshot resistance, i’ve avoided playing a lot tracer for the past 7 years, but shes all i play now

Just off tank against him as mei.

Wall off his hooks. Get in his face and M1 while your team helps with clean up. Use cryo to dodge his hooks as he will 100% start hard focusing you if you make his life difficult.

I’ve had pretty good luck with Venture against him. Flanking works best. While he’s distracted with the rest of your team, get in there with Venture and give him the ol’ shoot, drill dash, shoot, melee, burrow combo. It’s a lot of damage very quick, and if your team is paying attention, they can finish him off.

He has to be distracted though, otherwise he’ll delete you just as easy as any other char lol.

Tracer. I mean honestly. It’s tracer.

Widow. I mean again, it’s widow. Come on.

Sojourn. Like really? I don’t need to explain.

That’s 3 concrete options. If you don’t like them, too bad, nothing else comes close to them anyway regardless of the enemy tank.

tracer, reaper, venture to flank.

mei to annoy, symmetra to murder if they dont have melee or explosion dps.

junk, sojourn, pharah, echo to farm.

When the Tank is worse then it’s GG practicaly.

Ask your supports to pick Ana and you can maybe pick Echo or Cassidy

Eh, I dunno, chip damage until both Hog’s healers are dead… then team up against him and make sure you have cover nearby lol
