I think it also depends on your MMR
2350 is where you start at game 1. With no data there is high uncertainty which means high SR movement. Probably +/- 100 SR per game. So if you bomb all the placements you will get put in silver somewhere.

It’s been tested. If you go into comp at level 25 and just leave every game you’ll place at 2350.
Just search 2350 on the forum and you’ll see multiple examples.

People do not all place at 2350 lol. This should be obvious enough.
Depends on the MMR.
So for example, if you QP to level up and you keep poppin off, you’ll be matched with higher and higher ranks. Placement matches aren’t that significant.
That is ultimately their goal. Multiple accounts.

Quick play MMR does not matter. It has no influence on competitive. See Initial Competitive Skill Rating, Decrypted.
What you read is that 2350 is the initial starting point when you begin your placements. Not that 2350 is where you automatically place regardless of win/loss.
it starts you off with a very barebones mmr from your quickplay stats for the first game and adjusts accordingly but very aggressively.
