What is Valkyrie trying to be?

Valkyrie plays like a basic ability in an ult slot (with the slowest charge in the game) and res is an ultimate placed in a regular ability slot.

Valkyrie has the same healing as amp it up;

  • Amp it up = 48hp/s
  • Caduceuous staff = 50hp/s

Valkyrie has the same range as amp it up;

  • Amp it up = 10 meter radius around Lucio (soon to be/is now larger)
  • Caduceous staff = 10 meter bounce radius

Valkyrie also doubles as a worse version of Supercharger;

  • Supercharger = 50% amplified damage 25m radius around the entity
  • Valkyrie = 30% amplified damage - is still the caduceous staff.

Nn Mercy’s case it is 5 heroes and 1 buff dispenser, in Orisa’s case its 6 heroes and 1 buff dispenser.

Keep in mind it takes 1950 charge points to gain Valkyrie.

Valk is a basic ability in an ult slot and res is an ultimate placed in a regular ability slot.

these are just my observations, but these are just stats. gameplay wise mercy has been gutted after 13 nerfs (if you count the “”""""""“bug fixes”""""""""") she feels unimpactful, unrewarding and unfulfilling.

What is Valkyrie trying to be?

Useless

it’s trying to be whatever molten core and visor are trying to be. Buffs to her kit. It’s a transformation ult and it just buffs the abilities. Rez is more balanceable as an ability than an ult.

its trying to be her hip new fun playmaking ult

You’ve got the wrong hero

If you are going to make observations to try and prove how useless the ult is, at least do it fairly…

  • She can fly freely during Valkyrie.
  • She can switch between “amp it up” and “supercharger” mode freely.
  • Increased GA/beam range.
  • Supercharger isn’t mobile.

etc. etc. I’m not saying I disagree but geez, look at both sides of the argument before making an “observation”

Gotta agree its important to include both sides of the argument

Valk is mercy but better:

Better healing
Better regen
Better damage amp
Better gun
Better mobility
Better range

With less weaknesses:
Aoe healing instead of single target
Aoe damage boost instead of single target
Doesn’t need to take cover to regen
Doesn’t need to reload gun ammo
Doesn’t need an ally to position

And that’s why she was watered down because they buffed everything about her and removed multiple weaknesses. So what did they do instead of rethinking this ult? They made her base kit worse to cram valk and rez on e into her kit.

48hp/ss =/= 50hp/s

Lucio constantly swaps bettween songs also he is extremely easy to shut down when he doesn’t use his speed aura.

Also AMP it up lasts a few seconds.

Orisa cannot fly
Orisa supercharger can be instantly destroyed.
Orisa cannot heal-damage boost" at the same time"

This need to be lowered I think and increase her healing to 60 hp/s, Valk takes to much time to recharge.

  • You can fly
  • Lesser Super Charger
  • Mini Transcendence
  • Super Fast GA

and that’s it

as long as it’s on a regular cooldown (you will ALWAYS get it in 30 seconds, no matter what) there is no real reward for killing her often/playing her well, as a top 500 mercy and a bronze mercy will get ult at the same speed.

even simply adding a rescource meter filled by healing could fix it.
but an ult charge timer is one  and also she now resses more per game than she ever used to, and it provides more value as it can negate the first pick in a fight prior to mercy ever even attatching her beam.

honestly I wish they would just test putting her charge gain from 4 points per 5 healing and 2 charge per 3 damage boosted to 1 point per 1 healing and 1 point per 1 damage boosted literally the only healer that gets less than what they do

Mercy: 4/5 and 2/3
Ana and Brigitte: 1/1
Moira: 6/5
Lucio: 19/15
Zenyatta: 33/25

the only usefull one

no, trancedence actually saves people, what does 50/hp a second do for a tank?

I mean, it’s literally no different to what she does outside of her ult, just with more people…

nor can mercy

a more appropriate/in context phrase would be, supercharger cannot fly. granted, i already know both things to be true, but unlike mercy orisa still gets to use her gun.

that was my poor oversight…

the lucio comparison was projecting my point that it is INCREDIBLY similar to a pre-existing basic ability, although jeff prides himself on original abilties for each hero.

it isn’t actually. Rez is currently pressing E and hoping it goes while being slowed to an actual crawl. It’s predictable as all hell, it’s not fun, it goes against mercy’s entire kit that is based on mobility.

They could make mass rez balanced with small tweaks. A full rework of mercy was never needed to begin with.

Grav is incredibly similar to halt.

its the same, it just spreads. most of whom probably dont need it.

it’s still the same, just no wait time

that’s about it.

also this

More targets = More healing = Better healing…

No wait time = More regen = Better regen…
