Anyway, the reason I kill widows as Mercy is because if I don’t do it, who else would? What are the chances that either Genji, Winston or Widow on my team would take out their widow?
Basically, if you want something done right, do it yourself.
I was kind of shocked actually, as I haven’t done much Widow in the past on my main account. I mean, can you imagine if Widow’s talked garbage in chat every time they landed a shot? Some Mercy players are jerks, no doubt, I’ve seen it with curiously selective healing at times to, even if no one spammed “heal me”, some just get an attitude about certain other characters…
if you get in a match with me i can ensure that no selective healing will be done at all…

Mercy’s pistol is one of the most precise guns in the game, and once Widows are imobile while sniping (using the scope), is not that hard kill a scoping Widow if you land headshots…
If a Widow is doing well at their job, I will 100% come at them and eliminate the threat. Mercy in Valk. is a great counter to Widow and I only wish that more Mercy players realized this. It’s a dope feeling to charge at her in Moth form as I typically get a sense that Widow is pretty smug herself, one tapping heroes from a generally safe distance. I think calling it petty is silly. I get satisfaction from killing anyone as Mercy.
It’s nothing personal really, but if my team is topped off, why not? The widow has to reposition which means less time she’s scoped.
Besides widows head is perfect for my blaster.
Basically Widow is a free kill, since Mercy is extremely mobile and has constant self heal, Widow basically has to stand still to shoot, and her bullets are significantly smaller than Mercy’s.

Years of headshots out of nowhere, harassing widows only aiming for the mercy and Blizzard finally gave the Mercy the ability to take her frustrations out on the one hero that has been the bane of her existence.
Yes, I fly at widow and pharah gun blazing in pure fury and hatred. When they die I dance on their soulless, lifeless bodies, sit back and grin. For that one moment victory was mine.
Mercy has the biggest projectiles in the game. It’s harder to miss something than it is to hit it with Mercy’s pistol.
They are just trying to bait out your mercy to Rez for an epic mercy duel.
No malice intended but yes, I do target Widowmaker while using valk. Why?
She’s one of the only threats to me while using it. I don’t want to be shot out of the sky, nor do I want my teammates to get headshot. And widowmaker is weak to dive soooo…
I dive on her. No widow, one less threat. Seems like logic to me.
Snipers are great targets as they are a huge threat to the team and usually alone. Mercy using Valk is one of the few characters who can get to a sniper, win the fight and get back to her team unscathed.
Delaying damage, forcing a reposition, stopping healing is what Battle Mercy is all about and the best way for the character to make an impact on the game.
Ive killed her while I’m in Valk sometimes it’s an opportunistic kill, or because it’s either me or her who has to die. Widow is basically your #1 threat as a Valking Mercy, so sometimes it’s literally life or death
If my team isnt gonna take out the Widow, I am.
Same with an enemy Pharah.
Valk is an opportune time for Mercy to take out valuable targets. Her using her gun and getting kills isn’t petty.
Because when Mercy valks, she can fly. During valk Mercy is the most maneuverable hero in the game, and her valk wings make targeting her a bit more confusing than normal because they’re big, and they glow, and you can’t deal damage to her by shooting them. On top of that she gets perfect 3D maneuverability in the air which makes headshotting her an utter b**ch.
This puts her into a unique position where she can chase down a widowmaker without much risk to herself, and pretty much everyone underestimates how much damage her gun does.
Also, as mercy, you tend to be Widow target #1, so more than a bit of it is pure payback.
Not exactly an achievement considering that widow stands still to shoot and is also defenseless if you close the distance with valk.
No it just makes for a quick high priority kill. Also it gives us some satisfaction to aid in getting kills after multiple minutes of straight healing/boosting. It also makes our job easier because it gives us more area to work with during a fight if there’s no Widows contesting the airspace.
If Mercy kills you it’s either you’re a really bad sniper or the Mercy is really good
