it looks like a G and a reversed G intertwined does it mean anything?
edit: Also they have a setting where their friends cant right click to spectate can that symbol be the reason for it?

Prolly means cross platform users. Usually in a friendly group from a different platform.
So lets say if you are playing on PC that indicates that the user is a playing with console machine.
