What is tanking anymore?

Which is why support are having a terrible time lol

They need to remove the tank advantage on offensive dps. They can keep the hp/armor but that dps needs to be reduced.

Exactly. This is why two tanks were vital to Overwatch. Now Supports either have to be turned into DPS equivalent heroes or be impossible to target.

Ask yourself if this is healthy gameplay though. Having to completely ignore a target RIGHT IN YOUR FACE and each team having to flank two tiny characters hiding in the back is just… weird. Now we are having discussions about super-buffing all of the supports.

What the hell is this game going to end up as after every character can hold their own against the enemy DPS? Makes zero sense, and it’s how we ended up with GOATs.

Honestly goats was on its way out as they kept nerfing tanks and supports basically every patch until RQ landed. Than they’ve buffed tanks and supports basically every single patch since RQ started.

The problem is most new players just play Tanks as DPS and its hurting the game badly. They have 0 concept of protecting or making space, just hunt kills and expect everyone else to follow along.

Most games with the role trinity make Tank the CC role. IMO, they need less damage and more cc and utility

In the absence of a taunt skill and human players acting like NPCs, tanks need a reason to be paid attention to.

That has generally been because they are extremely dangerous close range and demand your attention and reaction. Once upon a time, even rein was meant to use his shield to get close enough to then swing his hammer, and not just be a rectangle dispenser.

Tanking in OW2 is basically just, low skill dpsing a lot of the time.

And with the lack of a second tank they know they are the main focus on heals so they just dive it without a care and yell at support for not heal botting.

5v5 is making worse habits for new tank players and the game as a whole will fall apart from this alone.

“The best way to protect your team as Rein is to swing your axe like Winston Ult” is the trend tho.

According to this forum it is.

But they don’t demand your attention, in fact they do the opposite, with how big their HP pools are and how defensive they are, trying to pay attention to them is the equivalent of wasting your time.

Giving them damage doesn’t make you pay attention to them, they still have hundreds more HP, armor, defensive abilities, and healers pumping 100+ hps into them at all times.

Paying attention to them is the opposite of productive, the correct thing to do is target ANY one else but the tank.

People with this pfp are always so unbelievably based idk what it is

And that’s why Rein deeply suck in OW2…
He’s from another time.

Getting more kills and staying alive longer than the enemy tank.

Be enough of a threat to soak damage that would otherwise go to the other players on your team. It’s up to your Supports to keep you and the rest of the team alive and for the DPS to apply pressure.

Yeah sure bro. Been watching Cloudly lately? Say that on his stream and see what his reply is. He doesn’t make it into top spot for no reason as Rein.

Be sensible before you post.

Lol,he can’t play anything else.
Did you notice that he’s the only one to play Rein?
No need to be sensible, just use your brain.

Wrong actually. He’s been expanding into DPS as Reaper and Widow, but won’t play Sojourn, which to be fair I wouldn’t either-Sojourn is a braindead DPS hero. Even bad players can look good playing Sojourn, I should know as I suck as DPS and even I looked good
