except the thing current bash is good against are hypermobile heroes.
what would a stun-less bash do against them now?
in a lot of cases, it just means them getting more gray area in terms of how immediate they need to disengage (i.e. they can stay longer to finish what they started; such would likely be the case for sombra, tracer, genji) or it means they can just ignore it because it’d no longer disrupt them (e.g. if bash didn’t stun against current designs for ball or df, they wouldn’t care about bash at all and continue what they’d usually do).
I mean, if they actually were redesigning her in a way that’d actually resolve her uptime problems those would be fair points to justify that. but seemingly they’re not doing that…
I disagree but more importantly tracer isn’t the only hypermobile hero in the cast.
unless they’re planning on dramatically reworking/redesigning those heroes (which they haven’t really said so except for like df maybe), “sizeable nerfs” (i.e. largely number changes) are likely not going to work unless they neuter them numerically.
taking tracer as an example.
- increasing blink and recall cd only just makes her clunkier and only increases downtime of engagements, and doesn’t really address how strong her hypermobility is used in duels (like they’re still going to use largely the same blink patterns in the engagement itself, i.e. doesn’t address how hard she is to hit when without cc or lenient aim tools).
- reducing number of blinks either would be neutering of the entire design (e.g. if she only had 1 blink) or tracer not really address how her blinks are used in duels (i.e. doesn’t address how hard she is to hit when without cc or lenient aim tools)
- tweaking blink distance does effectively the same as tweaking number of blinks (i.e. if you need more blinks to go the same distance, you’re basically just reducing number of blinks, and increasing distance can make tracer easily unintentionally get themselves out of range)
what would actually address how she uses blinks in duels and how hard she is to hit when without cc or lenient aim tools, would be to actually mechanically rework her blinks i.e. something like “blinks no longer make tracer travel instantly and instead are now ~15m/s dashes that last 0.5s each (i.e. travels current 7.5m distance in 0.5s)”.
