What is Blizzards "End Game" for OW?

Who cares about 160+ heroes! When will we ever get our $500 skin??

League players are so spoiled, I swear/s /s /s

CS is a simple game with a simple formula. Everyone has access to the same guns and is either called a terrorist or a counter-terrorist. CS is also much easier on the eyes with minimal VFX.

Just like traditional sports, simplicity is key in the longevity of a game.

OW is fundamentally flawed from a gameplay PoV. Blizzard never managed to provide a good enough format and gameplay experience that make players stick to the game.

OW is one of those games where the barrier to enter is fairly high due to its complexity.

But once you give it a fair try and surpass the initial obstacles, you start to realize the other flaws and you start having more frustrating times than fun times, at which point you may ask yourself “why am I even playing this game?”

OW is supposedly a team-based game where the default way to play is to solo queue. (Contradiction)
And the matchmaker just adds insult to injury.

In OW not every playstyle is equally viable. Theoretically it has a lot of different playstyles, but some kits are historically and consistently better than others and/or hard-counter each other. (Hero design issue)

We all know that the lovable characters are a big selling point of OW.
Well guess what, after being able to collect every cosmetic of your favorite hero for a relatively fair effort/price (a sense of achievement and progression), now you feel like the game either asks you to pay a much higher price, or work(literally) to get the “free” stuff, or both.
So even the attachment to your favorite characters gets weaker.

man sojourn is so good i don’t pick her out of spite usually, being a sliding soldier with vertical mobility and a better hanzo is wild

Blizzard should quit developing games and just make Cinema. 2-3 overwatch movies would be dope. Not that corny nicer than nice stuff either, just believable heroes.

To answer the original question, I don’t think there is an endgame. They’re just raking in money and doing things day to day or a few months planning ahead at best (like events and stuff).
