Let’s not waste any time.
Lynx Seventeen - Not gonna do any lore for them (yes, them) but know that they were the omnic (btw your game needs more omnics) that assisted Zarya in locating Sombra.
Health: 250
Primary Fire: Data Analyzer - Fire a beam that does moderate, even below average damage to enemies, but locks onto an enemy with increased damage if they’ve been damaged enough. This status can be applied to multiple heroes at a time.
Abilities: Enable/Disable - Has 4 charges. Dash towards an ally or enemy in any direction. Dashing through an enemy disables one of their abilities for 3 seconds. Using every charge in quick succession can even disable one’s Primary Fire. Abilities are disabled in this order: Ability 2, Ability 1, Ultimate + etc., Primary Fire. Dashing through a teammate restores three seconds off of a certain cooldown. You can also dash without locking onto a hero for a slight increase in distance. The shortest possible cooldown is always priority. (For example, always Helix Rockets before Biotic Field regardless of how much time they currently need.) Cooldown: 6 Seconds (Total of 24 seconds for a max disable.)
Firewall - Deploy a personal protective barrier in front of yourself that absorbs incoming fire. All absorbed damage goes back to reducing the cooldowns for Disable/Enable. Cooldown: 14 Seconds
Ultimate: Confabulate - Lynx Seventeen activates an AOE pulse similar to EMP that shuffles the enemy’s abilities and primary fire. Enemies can see where their abilities have been moved and can adjust accordingly. Using this at the right time can cause several Ultimates to be whiffed and powerful abilities to be lost.
Now, you might think. “Yeah… having two people can be hack cannot be healthy for the game. Restoring cooldowns is busted. Imagine splurging it all on a Mercy so she can get fast Rezzes. How the hell do you balance that?” Well here’s the solution.
Lynx is a support. They are a support that cannot heal.
So, in a Role Locked setting, you’d have to sacrifice a second healer for very powerful utility which could make a big difference in the survivability of your team. Either way, RQ or OQ, to be a threat to the enemy team, you’d have to get up in their face which can certainly make you an easier target if you want to use all your dashes to put heroes in a vulnerable state. And even if you do that, the enemy will still have regained an ability or two for defense. Still, as a support, it’s essential to stay by your team, and you’ll find getting up on the enemies to be much more effective if you have someone to back you up.
Any comments or concerns on possible further balance are greatly appreciated.
