The fix is straightforward to me: back to the original vision, minus the silencing (replace it with other utilities) and keep all the QoL changes that happened over the years.

The silencing works…if we’re not hamfisting it into 5v5, the real cause of so many of the biggest problems we’ve had with design over the last few years.
