What if Sombra got Zen treatment?

True, the fact that she can just hold down the ability without any downsides is quite silly.
Plus it being an auto lock on.

They could make hack itself a skill shot (initially with the rework i thought that hack was going to be the new thrown projectile)

You shouldn’t be chasing Sombra… If you know where Sombra is. Still wondering how you are getting chain hacked as a support even if QP. You or Sombra either die. Or she TP’s out after failing to kill you. In that second scenario, you can reposition knowing where she currently is. Making it harder to re-engage on you, certainly not right as her cooldown comes back up.

That is a misplay by you if that cooldown was better served to fend off the Sombra, not a problem with Sombra’s hack cooldown. One engage and 8 seconds later should be plenty of time to get your own cooldowns back. No need for a longer cooldown.

2 seconds is a lot for the team to go without their second DPS doing anything of value.

I do think there should be a punishment for getting interrupted. But if you are going for the no refund at all route, then you need to add a damage threshold. Since it getting interrupted by a Dva spraying 30 metres away at someone else should not be that harsh of a punishment. It should really only count for targeted shots to interrupt it at that point.

So “opportunist” was the thing that gives her extra damage to hacked targets? And yesssss I can see it was removed with her rework! Yay!

Well that actually makes me really happy, this coupled with the hp pool increase.
I was still treating sombra like she’s an assassin… now I can relax a small percentage more when fighting her knowing this isn’t part of her kit any more! Thank you for the information :smiley:

The problem with her is a similar problem that venture has

She can do too much at same time:
Mobility, survivability, damage/utility.

Mobility, damage and utility is fine to have. But survivability stacked not. Which goes:

Either
hinder her mobility (translocator or ms boost)
Or
hinder her survivability (changing inv to camouflage or reducing her hp pool) I would rather have her having camouflage due being able to react better.

That also would solve situations on high latency, which pretty much her hack is uncontested. The cooldown on the same target being increased can be tested, but if you cant’t exact hack that easily shouldn’t matter much.

Venture, the issue is the combination of Mobility, survivability, damage and utility. Which also is problematic.

While venture you can see it, which gives some reaction, the Mobility aspect can be hindered a bit (like a bit less ms, similar to rein holding barrier, on underground)

Those kind of changes, enables heroes excel on what they should, without being jack all trades.

Also, could help, in a future the implementation of hero bans to shake metas too. Due heroes being more aligned to each other.

The ability to deal 40% more damage to hacked targets was added to the opportunist passive at thr start of ow2, but it could have been better explained in those old patchnotes.

This is the case. I am pretty much capable to fight her off, tho not always killing her. Last time I got chainhacked as Mercy - while trying to be in air all the time. Hacks were comming from all kinds of places. Than I went Ana - it´s easier to track Sombra from ground.

Nade and sleep is always better towards the team fight for me. Idk, how that is a missplay. I am not really seeking advice, how to play against her.

There’s a nearly 6 second CD to hacking someone again after the lockout ends. That’s more than Zen’s cleansed discord CD.

honestly i don’t know what is your problem with hack… i mean it interrupts actions but only channeled actions, some of them need to be hacked with a pretty small timing (like rein shatter)
the hack got substantialy nerfed already, ow1 was like a 6 seconds silence and it could be applied infinitely to the same player, now is 1.5 seconds and you have a cooldown on each player so you can’t chain hack anymore.
Hack doesn’t amplify damage anymore
when i play support i don’t even care about hack, instead it helps me to know that there’s a sombra about to shoot me if she hacks me first.
i understand if people complains about stealth, it’s a cheap mechanic. But honestly i don’t understand why people complains about hack, is like the less annoying thing about her.
I think that you’re just falling on mind games with hack
