I’m just saying some people are PvP only and wouldn’t try pve especially if its behind a paywall,plus new players will still be drawn in regardless

To be honest
So far with what they’ve showed us I don’t have any faith on PvP so PvE is what I’m most into…
So I think it makes sense to sell it at full price since (if they do as promised) they will deliver a unique different game with story for each hero, new maps and gamemodes, abilities and progression for the heroes. Sounds nice…
However
I’m worried that they will deliver something not that great after all, average PvE game with no innovation or creativity and if that’s going to be the case then there’s no point on buying it…
Something inside me still has a little hope that they will listen, and the game will deliver late, maybe in 2023-2025, but they will do a decent job and it will be worth it?
I just hope so. In fact, I hope that they also fix the issues within the main game. If you wanna read more, I made a post were I detailed this things:
Who knows? Maybe Blizzard reads it too and makes OW a greater game. I’m not ultra hyped but I still have a little tiny faith that they can “fix” Overwatch and make a good game.

If anything I could see them making PVP be free.
Or maybe PVP Quickplay and Arcade be free. But Comp requires some sort of payment.
Y would I pay to be hard stuck?
It shouldn’t be free, as the PvE aspect is a completely new game.
But we should have a demo. Maybe the first mission, or something like that.

They spend to much time on it to give it for free. You know company need to make money, and want to do so also but i dont think game outside OWL is generating that much money besides selling accounts that later on can be upgraded to OW2.

that’s exactly what happens. Ow “2” will behave like a patch introducing a pve expansion.

Blizzard is making it very confused but the truth is it’s less “2” and more “2.0”
If the PvP required a copy of OW2 while OW1 was left to rot, then it would split the current playerbase to some degree. Since there’s only five tank players left, that’d be bad.

Blizzard decided to give the PvP to OW1 players for free, and they were attacked relentlessly for it. Why on earth would they give the PvE for free as well? They lose out on the money (which will be a lot of money), and they don’t even generate any goodwill, players just act like it’s not a “real” game if they don’t have to pay for it.
Any players asking for things for free, after the way the devs were treated for giving us OW2 PvP for free, is delusional. You’ve taught them that players will never, under any circumstances, give them any credit for making consumer-friendly choices. Blizzard has no reason, absolutely none, to ever make a consumer-friendly choice again. They gain literally nothing from it.
because people rightfully realized ow “2” pvp is made of all the delayed updates we haven’t been getting for the past two years.
If overwatch 2 proper is the pve stuff why delay pvp updates? Simple, Activision wanted to market a sequel cause an expansion doesn’t get the same media buzz, so they found a roundabout way to make it look “meatier” and then spun some pr speak about “redefining what sequel means”.
Overwatch 2 is a bulk update with pve expansion. Nothing more nothing less. And the game is suffering for it because the health of the game is secondary to getting good pr

If the pve is free it means that pretty much nobody will spend money on the game because everyone has already bought it. And with no money it probably won’t be long before they stop making content for it.
Most super competitive PvP players are usually bad at archives on the hardest difficulties or with the achievement hunting. So I prefer if it was paid to guarantee most of the players will be used to PvE Overwatch and increase chances of finding teammates trying for achievements.
PVP is likely to go F2P for QP, Comp and PVE will remain behind paywalls. They have to make money, you don’t pay once and get free unlimited content bro. They might make one mission free to let people experience, I do expect that to happen.
I am sort of just stunned at the sense of entitlement people have these days on games, like they should just be given loads of high quality content… for free…
