Yeah, but you get about 7 shots, and it’s very easy to deny if a tank decides to bodyblock, or use their defensive abilities.
And sure, you get some mobility, but it’s not anywhere near good, and you have to trade a not insignificant amount of time and health from yourself to move the height of a Mei ice wall.
That and the 1.5 second casting time is pretty big.
torb is really good both for dmg and zoning, widow is very useful on team fights when the other team is coming in, lucio is the best defensive ult in the game even better than trans in a lot of way the only ult that can with stand mass dmg like rip tire dva bomb genji blades etc.
Pharah. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sat on Barrage for, like, three minutes–not because I was fishing for POTG but because there were literally zero situations where it wouldn’t have been a suicide button.
Mercy. Go ahead and press Q accidentally, do it at the worst possible time, it won’t matter, your team won’t even notice you’re ulting, that’s how irrelevant it is.
Special mention for dragonstrike when used on its own. If you somehow manage to get killed by that and you aren’t literally being held inside of it by a graviton surge… maybe try crossword puzzles instead of shooters.
Here’s a hot take: it’s not the worst ultimate, but Coalescence is really not good. The healing won’t be able to outheal anything serious, the damage will be outhealed by enemy healers. 8 seconds of healing/damage which will, realistically, only hit 2 or 3 players. 8 seconds leaving Moira stuck and able to control any of her numbers/fade. Of course ones like high noon, visor and whole hog are worse, but I’d say Moira’s is up there…
Noon can get kills from flanks, zones out, can do TONS of shield break, is great against Pharah/Mercy/Echo, and can be combo’d with piledriver or Flux. At worst it’s a “free” reload.
Visor is a solid flaking tool, can be combo’d, is great for killing Mercy/Pharah/Echo, and at worst is still a damage boost. You can drop field and animation cancel into visor, and you still get your rockets.
Wholehog is attached to the already worst tank in game, and turns your giant slow feeder into an even slower giant feeder. It is simple to cancel, he can’t use vape or hook during, and it only gets kills if they are coast or have their back in a corner.
It’s ok at clearing the point in OT, I guess, IF the enemy doesn’t have a stun or Rein.
Maybe it’s the Sombra main in me, but I’ve always thought Coal was severely overrated.
Upside is you get it nearly every fight, so it evens out.
Wow.
When reading some of these responses I think “there’s no way this person plays competitively or is higher than silver” and then I click on the profile and see they are diamond- same rank as I.
I can’t believe I am so bad at the game that some people in my rank believe that ult’s that are universally regarded by top players as some of the best in the game are thought to be bad on this post (orisa and lucio most notably).
For damage potential and killing capability I think Meteor Strike is one of the worst. Although it has potential because you can use it as a get out of jail free card when you’re a second from dying.
Valkyrie. It has absolutely no point and sense. “Here, you can fly and die to a hitscan. To help you, take here your passive ability unlocked and +10hp/s, maybe it’ll help you.”
I think it kinda depends on what you mean with “worst”. Some ults are bad because they don’t generate a lot of kills or bring enough utility, some are bad because they feel unfair to play against or unfun to use.
I think Meteor Strike is one of the worst because it’s a bit of both; doesn’t easily generate kills, but those it does consistently kill is usually the same low mobility characters that can’t really do anything about it because of the instant cast and i-frames.
