Go back to Elementary school buddy. For ‘special’ kids if possible. You are running around in circles, and absolutely ignoring what i am telling you. Low iq kids like you with egos bigger than sun should not be alowed to talk to people. You are out of touch with reality.
Not denying that, it mostly just boiled down to “this isn’t fun and is a waste of my time so I’ll leave and find a lobby that is fun”. The problem is that Blizzard haven’t made notable steps towards making the lobbies more fun, they’ve just added a penalty for leaving them.
It depends on how you look at it I suppose. If you’re looking specifically at the number of people leaving, yeah, it’s lower. But I’ve also seen more people switching to Widow and playing aim trainer against Sombra/Tracer. Is it everywhere? No, I wouldn’t say that. But I would definitely call it a noticeable uptick in the number of people who refuse to try.
Right, I don’t disagree with the goal, I disagree with the solution. If I’m playing pick up basketball and people are constantly leaving because of how unfun the games are, my goal isn’t (well, shouldn’t be) to penalize the people leaving. It’s to improve the quality of the games so that people want to stay.
The issue being, Blizzard has implemented the leaver penalty to treat the symptoms, but haven’t actually done any work towards fixing the cause.
not much they can actually do about that…youre not going to magically stop the game from being “unfun” to people…people will always find something wrong with the state of the game
its partly why i love that one post that ive linked many times on here (the oldest rerference to game dying one - i wont link now)…cause if you look at what people are complaining about now vs 7 years ago…its the SAME stuff…like all the things have changed around and such but the current versions of those things are STILL complained about
there is no “fun” formula…blizz can try do those things (and i think do try)…but we’ll end up in the same exact place anyway
what they can do is add penalties to “try” to curtail unwanted behaviors
That is why chasing the subjective concept of “fun” is a bad idea. As changes are made the game appeal just shifts from demographic A to demographic B.
It’s better to decide what you want your game to be and what demographic you want to cater too. Then stick to your vision.
This creates a feeling of wellbeing between development and player base.
There’s plenty they can do about it, starting with actually acknowledging that there were design issues that lead to people leaving games. Like I said, the reasons people were chain leaving games may not have been uniform across the entire player base, but it’s not like they were a secret and there are definitely trends in them that we can draw conclusions from.
Unbalanced matches, character design, map design. These are all perfectly actionable issues.
That isn’t terribly surprising to me considering how Blizzard tends to design/rework things that are considered problematic. Sombra and Hog are two pretty good examples where they may as well not have bothered reworking them with how few problems it actually solved and how many new ones it created.
Oh joy, Hog is an even more unkillable behemoth that still has a touch of death combo. Oh joy, Sombra is now an assassin with a massive DoT projectile that’s still permanently invisible and can still escape at will. Even worse because Hog left was terrible for a year before his rework which didn’t actually change the problems people had with him.
Being born stupid is closer to someone seeing and experiencing the current situation, being upset about it, and continuing to stick around to complain about it instead of taking true action and moving on. Then coming to a conclusion that others calling them out on it is either a shill or staff.
I’m aware of what people do. I’m saying people use the example you provided as a way to say things like penalties don’t work. You guys never stop to think the people “soft throwing” who can’t leave are actually hurting themselves more than anyone else do you?
A person throwing a tantrum because they can’t up a leave a bunch of matches at a whim without being penalized is only fooling themselves into thinking acting like an idiot is any form of relief from their self inflicted frustration.
They’ll come crawling to the forums about how they were unjustly banned for doing nothing wrong.
What I’m saying is there is something in every kit that someone will find annoying and want nerfed or removed.
This is applied to all heroes. Will there be some heroes that receive more attention for their kit being annoying? Of course. But the forums have shown someone will complain about anything in this game.
I rarely get backfilled into matches these days, so I think the penalties are doing their job
That being said, it kicking in after leaving just one match in 20 is pretty obnoxious and I wish they kept it at a 3 match leeway
As an Ana main I aspire for those type of numbers,700 right now. Both her and my zen got jade weapons.
Most fun supports to me. Best sleep is sleep darting a calling mercy off the map on Numbani of all places
Because TF2 was designed as a low stakes fun time meant to enrich your time. OW2 is a job.
Same. Always have been through all the nerfs and meta changes. Ana for her play making with Sleep Dart, and Zen for using his movement during engagements.
nothing that you said there invalidated a single sentence of what i said.
which was in response to your mindless remark
thus your reply
was an empty glass jar.
Yeah, them long stream of Ana nerfs had me tweaking tho lol. Fs with Zen too, I love being a flankyatta when I can
Sure, well in the next month when you make yet another alt account to complain on (I’m sure you’ll say I’m Blizzard staff and have an all seeing eye) with the same patterns as you’ve always had to moan about YOUR choices, keep in mind you’ve decided to be unhappy here. No one but yourself made you log into either the forums or the game.
complain? i get it. you want a standing ovation for massive miscalculations which have backfired into oblivion. only staff would attempt to defend endless mindlessness. often only to find themselves unemployed.
which is precisely why player base has yet to recover. free will.
