What do you think is the biggest problem in comp?

The only thing I will say about #2, is that when you get put on a toxic team they sabotage you. If you are DPS, and they are playing say… Moira or Rein suddenly they will stop playing their role properly in order to out DPS you, in order to “prove” how poorly YOU are playing your role & in their mind and the minds of easily influenced players “prove themselves right about you.”.

Well I haven’t touched solo q since LFG came out, I play in a 6 man team, my team would like it to be able to see where we can improve more, not to be toxic with one another if the scoreboard shows someone is slacking on certain areas.

The game needs a scoreboard, and you can’t not put one in because you’re scared of toxicity from… for want of a better word, idiots.

If everyone had the type of attitude of “we can’t do that incase it causes even more toxicity” then the Twin Towers would have never been re-built for fear of them getting blown up by terrorists again ! You can’t back down or let the few idiots in the world dictate/stop you from doing what is right, the same rules apply to the idiots you get online, specifically Overwatch in this case.

I didn’t say I was scared, or that I was against the idea at all.

To be fair there is a difference between rebuilding the twin towers and stopping to put guard rails on bridges. Both may result in idiots causing harm to themselves and others. But one type of idiot is really rare, and the other type is far more common. Don’t give in to terrorism, but also have safteys in place for common pit falls.

Exactly. If something in a game can be manipulated or abused, it often is. Figuring why and how people will is just the start of making sure what you implement is going to be as close to being the best you can. AKA, acknowledging reality. :scream:

Easy solution, you can view the scoreboard from previous game even after you’ve gone back to main menu. Like you can with highlights. That way, if you’re solo’ing queing, you avoid the whole potential “toxicity” that you might receive over comms at the end by just leaving. You can just leave straight back to menu and view the scoreboard.

I like this! I think it’s a really great idea to be honest. :star_struck:

Hidden MMR system doesnt seem to work. I was over 3k then 2.9k I took a break now I am having trouble getting out of 2100 no matter what I do. I always wait till everyone picks a hero too pick mine (usually have to heal or tank bc autolockers). I call everything out and try to encourage and help my team but this season I cant do it anymore. My question is if hidden MMR exists and I average at least 2 golds a game and do very well why do I get bad teammates who aren’t comparable in skill level? Getting gold damage on Reinhardt and gold healing on Hog and gold on obj elims, and still getting facerolled something seems broken. Idk if the community overall has gotten more toxic but I have never had this much trouble solo queuing. You can go on a win streak get on average 20ish SR and go up literally 200SR then lose about 3/4 games and you lose 40+ SR a loss. I for one am a cooperative/competative player but if I wanted to have fun or a challenge quickplay seems to match me more accurately towards my actual skill level.

People who do nothing but complain about everyone else and think it’s never their fault and instead come up with excuses that aren’t true.

A.K.A.
You

People, mostly…

I’m just at work bored posting my butt off but did you not read what I said? How would I be the problem I said I wait for everyone to pick heroes before I pick, I talk even if no one talks so I can call out and playmake.

My comment was directed to the OP*

I think it’s when people refuse to switch even though they’re crap

Teammates. What’s the point of playing competitive when nobody joins/participates in comms or refuses to switch when it’s obviously not working?

the fact that the game is casual and not competitive.

Truth is that the skill level is quite shallow and your own performance often depends on your team. I can hang in games around 2.5k, although lacking some mechanical practice vs. hardcore 2.7k dps, etc. But can mostly cope and win games at that SR without dragging my team down.

I’ve managed to do well in QP games with diamonds on both sides (Messing about with off heroes perhaps, but still…)

Then I lose comp games at 1700 SR as my team mates are bad. As in “Let’s all run ahead of the barrier to be butchered like dogs” bad.
Trying to tank and support in silver is far harder than in gold.

My biggest peeve is new players getting placed around mid gold. They’re clearly bronze tier as they have zero game sense, never group up and just die over and over again, losing a massive chain of matches and dragging the unlucky down with them. 25 QP levels and 10 placement games isn’t enough to sort this out?

True,I have a couple friends who are kind of new and they are in platinum but clearly bronze level. The thing I dont understand is on my friends account I use I won 6 out of 10 placements got placed in Diamond and on my main i won 5 out of 10 and got placed in low gold. Each account has identical stats and winratio idk it’s just weird.
