Well guys I tried with comps

Went from silver V to gold 1 but now is just being stuck bouncing from gold 1 to gold 2. End of the comp career. Can’t rank up anymore, especially with df onetricks and smurfs around. Just demotivated as hell thanks to these people.

I am relatively stuck as well, but I am not playing to climb, so it is alright. If I could not climb with regular flawless games on DPS where I shredded the entire lobby, I am DEFINITELY not going to climb with my mediocre Reinhardt.

I dunno why go comp if not to climb lol, but ye I feel you. pay dps is kinda impossible , tanks are raid boss, healers seems to outheal every dmg and to many cc (wich is funny considering they wanted to ‘‘remove’’ cc from ow 2 lol)

There are a few reasons. Generally speaking you get teammates who cares more and as a result try to play as a team once they are getting eviscerated instead of just giving up or leaving. Then there is the fact that you play both sides of a map. And last, but certainly not least, you get Jade weapon points.

The only good reason I see here is ‘‘both sides of map’’ as in qp is just def def def def and ooooo a push map -_- about jade weapons. meh

First of all: grats on how far you’ve climbed already!

Smurfs are an absolute pain in metal ranks. BUT, they’re a pain in higher ranks too (as well as cheaters that are everywhere at the moment.)

I really think you’ll climb further if you stick with it though.

Good saying : “Don’t let the [expletive]s grind you down.”

Nah thanks if I keep win/lose/win/lose means I can’t rank up anymore, in nonmetal ranks smurfs aren’t a issue because is whole different game where who smurf is on his actual rank.

well, how many seasons have you played? is this your first comp season? maybe give it time. Time and proficiency should help you start working your way up. It would appear youve hit your rank-skill level…from here its working on the little things that can give you that next edge up.

keep going! you might be surprised!

Dunno, quitting instantly after everything isn’t going smoothly doesn’t sound like a good plan to rank up.

Guess is the second, but I count as the first as is the only season I played daily (usually I play till I lose 2 in a row then go back to qp)

on this you’re right but if the game become win/lose win lose win lose means I’ve reached the peak.

i hear ya… it is certainly a frustrating game…but grats on gold…coming from a bronze/silver player, that’s quite an achievement!

wohoho I’m gold -.-’ big stuff, to me gold silver and bronze are the same ranks.

If you have a few friends try queueing in a duo it can sometimes help a lot to climb. I dont think you said if you were solo or not but i know its often harder to climb as a solo especially when your team is not always on coms

I’m solo, in duo you get other premades and things are even harder like that.

well, as someone who hovers around bronze/silver…gold would be a welcome improvement for me…not saying you should not strive to improve…but…im just saying, from my perspective…gold might as well be T500…so, grats lol

The most important part in climbing is mental and willingness to improve. If you can’t accept that you’re stuck due to your own failures and keep a cool head there’s very little point in playing comp.

Ranked isn’t some ladder you climb, it’s a measure of your abilities compared to the rest of the playerbase. If you’re “stuck”, then that’s where you are relative to the rest. You can always improve, but that goes for others as well. So if you’re not improving faster than others, you’re still at the same relative point. And if you’re not improving, you’re being left behind.

I mean I get I told that stuff, for sure I’m stuck for my fault aswell but even teammates add something lol

that’s why I stopped playng comp. can’t improve anymore.

I don’t think climbing should be the reason for playing, or you’re going to have a bad time. The main benefit of comp is the matchmaking. Playing a good match with people of your skill level is the fun part. Improving your own play is a good goal, and climbing will most likely result from that. Climbing doesn’t just happen by playing, though.

Exactly. Is consequence of improving and/or playing a lot. Shouldn’t be the goal.

Play to win, work on your failures, iterate, try to work with your team. Practice a bit on hero trainers, diversify your heroes to enable you to work around certain heroes. Know each hero kits and how to work against it. Eventually you will climb as consequence not as goal.

If requires certain hero to win, if you know the basics, give a try. If not, try to enable your teammates. Sometimes you go full throttle and forget that timing is important, peel for an ally too. Most teamfights are more tied to coordination/timing than actually killing foes.
