Well. Genji needs another round of nerfs

Yes, and I still want to burn him and all flankers in fire. Flanker shouldn’t be good at direct fights.

Try hitting your leftclicks instead. Useless healbot.

Hey, it’s not my problem, that flanker switches to killing you instead. If I can escape him, so can you.

Always mixed feelings from Genji slicing my team with ult, that was initially used against me.

Nah flankers should have fun too. Being good at fights is what makes them, or any dps, fun.

Do you not understand that you are playing a shooter. People like you ruined this game.

Heal yourself, useless grunt.

30k posts +. And I can’t even imagine how many hours played.

If you would just put a sliver of that time on the forums into understanding and practicing fps basic mechanics you wouldn’t be crying over flankers, telling everyone how you run away from them. JFC

I am not dumb enough to fight fights, where I am at inherent disadvantage. Yet other support usually can’t do it, so they would end up flanker food.

I am long term FPS player, and that is exactly why I am not taking on guy with assault rifle, while having only pistol, for example.

If these forums weren’t PG I would tell you the actual problems you have. Spoiler, it has nothing to do with genji being nerfed or not.

Go on, try it. I have no problem ruining game for others, if that’s what it takes to enjoy it.

This is especially untrue in 5v5.

Tanks were generally contributing far more damage than they mitigated, the loss of a tank actually gives support players far more freedom to actively look for their own damage & kills, which by extent means they’re more free to take their own fights with enemy players when forced to. There’s a reason high level support players described the role as more ‘duel-y’ very early on in OW2 betas.

Focusing entirely on healing the team was never the correct way to play support in OW1, but it’s even less effective in OW2 because you’re leaving even more value on the table by doing it.

This is your problem. Simply staying alive and pumping out heals doesn’t cut it in 5v5. You’re going to feel like your role has less impact or less potential when this is how you approach it.

There’s a reason support has been considered the most SR-inflated role in the game for a long time.

In OW1 you could climb by doing this, way too easily. Now in OW2, you’ll get punished even harder for playing support like this.

The best supports in the world are capable of fighting fights against the best DPS in the world. There is no inherent disadvantage, the disadvantage is an illusion caused by a majority of support players in the average ranks not having even remotely comparable mechanics to their DPS counterparts.

I’ve said it before; it’s time for the Supports to get a bit of a buff instead.

Genji has been nerfed. Despite all the mains malding, he’s still able to bully the backlines and deal damage.

If the backlines are still struggling, it may be that they need mechanical changes/updates to cope. Not counter-stomp; cope. Balance the fights out.

It would be about as difficult, as balancing tank busters.

These “wholesome” carebears with 5k hours ingame somehow got it in their heads that support is a role where you can just drool on your keyboard and healbot a tank. Because “thats what healers do”.

 actually so rude

It wouldn’t be easy, but the difficulty wouldn’t be obsured.

Going off the ideas I’ve had; giving Ana a speed boost away from a tagged target, or Baptiste a small slowing “stomp” after he jumps/lands, would probably not be too much of an issue.

Giving Brigitte my idea for “Blastproof” passive, Zenyatta his homing orbs on Discorded targets and Mercy her disarm/knock-back would be the ones that need longer tuning, I’d say.

It’s still doable though! Just don’t give just stat buffs. That’s just an arms race.

I returned the favor, sorry.

Even with all those additions, players would have to stop healing/buffing their team to deal with flankers. Which alone can be enough for flanker team to win.

As for homing orbs on discorded targets…if that happens, this forum will go off like thermonuclear device. It would be almost like another Moira, with damage, but without immunity against deflect.

Only against incompetent players. At high levels of play he wasn’t capable of consistently bullying backlines even before the nerfs, especially during the Kiriko meta.

As for dealing damage, every hero can do that.

When the role is already overtuned, giving them even more tools and utility is definitely going to be an issue.

Are you seriously implying that support needs to babysit the team so constantly that the team will spontaneously explode a 4v4 situation if a support player stops heals for a few seconds?

Like I said, tanks contributed far more damage than they mitigated and having one less 500hp blob of health to pump heals into gives you so much more freedom to look for value outside of your yellow abilities.

This obsession with pumping out healing is something that support players will eventually need to unlearn for OW2, but that will take a while since they’ve always been the slowest to adapt.

It’s shocking that support players ever ended up in this healbot mentality when even during OW1 it was so far from being the most effective way to play the role.

First off, I don’t know what “obsured” means but I meant “absured”. Sorry!

Dealing with Flankers and keeping the team alive is part of the skill of being Support. At the moment, the “dealing with Flankers” part is just a bit too unfair due to the effort advantage that Flankers have over supports.

Killing a Support is a very good way of distracting them for a good 7+ seconds. Peel mechanics will allow Supports to try to fend off Flankers while trying to do their job. They may not kill the Flanker; they may die, but they can at least try and do their job while fighting for their life!

Yeah, homing orbs on a discorded target wouldn’t be the simplest. Of course, they could never headshot. That’s standard. Maybe it just curves them towards the target a bit, rather than being directly auto-aimed during flight.

Part of the idea was thinking of dealing with Flyers but even then the orbs would only “track” at a slow pace, decline in damage over their travel and would only be orbs that hadn’t impacted the ground or walls.

Maybe he could get some “leech” heals off of damage dealt by his harmony target? Maybe discorded targets deal less damage to Zenyatta the closer they are to him…?

These are just ideas but its along those lines of interactive mechanics that require player input that Supports need. Not just more health or healing.

It always would be unfair. Simply due to supports having to pay attention to more things.

Because we want to heal. Not to murder. Murder is what DPS are for, and we would be DPS players, if that was what we wanted.

And it’s what makes flankers so annoying - even if you can easily put one down, you would be forced to do something you don’t enjoy much.

Personally, I do enjoy automating killing part, be it traps or turrets. Since turret doesn’t experience deja vu or boredom from exactly same player running into it time and time again.
