"We'll do better to-"

No, apparently not.

How is it that I fall for the “we’ll do better with communication in the future.”
I guess that’s my fault for being gullible enough to take anything they say about communication at face value.

Blizzard has been releasing miss after miss, and this recent patch + the “hidden” ranked system is beyond deplorable. Is it not basic graphic design to want to encourage players to play comp? For what reason do we need to play against players of our own skill tier just for us to get back at the skill tier we were before?

Is the goal to just pretend that everything is fine and turn your nose up at the overwhelmingly negative feedback that’s been going on since S2 dropped? At least come out and say that your balance team has very little experience with understanding how to balance this game, instead of throwing out these appalling “buffs” to support after you claim there were going to be major reworks to them.

Your player base is not stupid, yet you’re undermining the very people who are giving you money. (not that that’s surprising considering this is a small indie company!)

I’ve never been more frustrated at how insanely tone deaf, careless, and out of touch a team on blizzard has ever been in my entire years of gaming. Who even is this balancing team? Why does it seem like a bunch of gold players are out just slinging out whatever first comes to the drawing board?

This balance team has seriously either got to go, or start putting their priorities elsewhere. This is embarrassing.

Well enough of them might be as they buy overpriced skins to “support” development of… this.

Gotta love how they hired multiple community managers whose sole job is supposed to be communication and yet they were all AWOL by the time launch rolled around.

They’re collecting a paycheck and probably went to fiverr and is paying some guy half way round the world to do his job for him for $5 hr.

Can’t convince me otherwise

Honestly, given extremity of some of the posters around here and Reddit, I’m half convinced the “community management” job just entails running a bunch of shill accounts.

It’s impossible to have a conversation about this when people are so disingenuous about how often Blizzard communicates.

does anyone know the reason, why the people that bought the original game can’t recieve new heroes for free after Kiriko?

Because they want people to buy the battle passes obviously

OW2 launched with the vast majority of the actual content (maps and heroes) being from OW1.

This is a new game, but not because of any real technical reasons. Just because…well, money.

sometimes it feels like the whole “new game launch” doesn’t feel like it’s been thought out

like I know this is cosmetics, but Orisa has a spear, and no longer a barrier,

that’s a pretty huge change, yet her spear is not golden if you inspect her golden weapon, not even slight glint of change

thats because it wasn’t. It was rushed. The entire team is pretty much gone, and they have a whole new staff conducting this. OW2 had a vision that never came to light because ABK needed money + couldnt wait any longer to keep OW on the back burner. So what you’re seeing now is essentially an unfinished project.

A lot of things weren’t thought out fully, or even partially.

Or maybe they have been, not like we can know. The devs knew enough to keep the patch changes a secret right up until the final hour - they knew they’d get back lash but “whoopsie its already live sorry guys, not like we can beta test this and get feedback and not push out trash updates”

idk, isn’t Blizzard and Activision kind of on a rich side, to blame it on budget reasons?

“we will try to communicate more often” - same devs that push huge unreasonable balance changes to live server

 Just bc I said they “needed” money doesn’t mean they actually needed any money to begin with (blizzard: small indie company). But all jokes aside, yeah, they needed money to keep the gam going with content bc of the 2.5 yr content drought. The game was hanging by a thread and they needed something to give to us.

they gave us something, people seem to be buying the battle pass and playing, I wait less than 10 seconds to play support/tank in comp,

what more do they need? like they can wait, but waiting too long isn’t a good strategy…

What I mean by that is that overwatch 1 wasn’t making enough money. They couldn’t give us content or anything new because they were so busy working on ow2. The game was literally on its dying breath with nothing to show and they had the player base waiting with very little updates for like 3yrs.

This is why ow2 “doesn’t feel like it’s been thought out”

they are currently getting the money through their cringe BP

the game is out time to start ironing out the flaws?

I was one of the optimistic ones, I’ve been playing for the past week OW for at least 2+ hours a day

“so guys I know we are slowly filling up the pool with your money”

“in the meantime, have fun with these new balance changes where new overpowered hero everyone calls overpowered gets a bloody buff”

“thanks again for the support”
