Welcome to OW 2019

orisa has a 4 second duration and a Cooldown 10 seconds on fortify, the only cc negation on a tank.
As for the larger healthpools of tanks are immediately offset by their Massive hitboxes. While it is a tanks job to soak up damage and cc, there is a limit. If you are cc’d for a solid 10+ seconds then you cant do your job of protecting teammates from damage.

I would love to see this. It would be honestly interesting to hear more about how game like this is balanced and what kind of work goes into it.

Overwatch 2019? Oh, the year where I will likely end-up playing even less than I did in 2018.

The worst lie non widow players tell themselves.

I wish they went with their original vision instead of this esports nonsense. The game could have been bigger than LoL.

But GOATS has DPS counters:
Pharah
Reaper
Junk
Even Bastion.

The entirety of the DPS roster hasn’t been made unmeta only certain dps.
It’s just double standard

I’ve got 60 hours on widow, she’s pretty much aim focused.
She requires one good positioning and moving around a bit.
I’m not saying she’s easy, just that she has skill sets in different places

And by your comment, I assume you agree “skill” isn’t just aim

Okay, I will bite. So what buff did Rein get that made him so OP that he instantly became a must pick. I mean he wasn’t OP when Dive was the thing. How about Zarya. Last time she was a go to was what triple tank meta? No buffs have happened they are literally the same now as they was 6 months ago. I mean they fixed Riens ult (kinda) but that is pretty much it. They haven’t touched his life, armor, damage, shield. What did they change that made him a must pick?

She’s about 30% aim based. But anyone can know from just math being 2x as bad at aim, and getting 2x as many shots off because you position better that positioning better is the better skill as Widow is pretty inconsistent as just a hero so you need better averages which you get if you shoot more.

She also has to play around surprising other players quite a bit. She has to reposition and make shots on people that aren’t throwing everything but the kitchen sink at her perch making her job impossible and AD crouch spamming in unpredictable Z motions.

She also has to be very good at playing keep away. Actually in some games that is the only skill she needs is the ability to waste 2+ players time.

Being able to click on heads is good and all but if that’s all you can do, then aimbotters would be all there is in top 500 and that clearly isn’t true. In fact there’s a video of Kheprii beating an aim botter. So superior aim does not make a superior widow AT ALL. Not by itself, you need to learn all of widow to be good at widow, aim is like 30% of it imo.

Stop acting like this is something limited to heroes like Reinhardt or Mercy. Gamesense and positioning is a core aspect of EVERY hero on the roster. That includes Widowmaker. Actually, it applies especially for Widowmaker since it’s so easy for a Widow to be in an area where they can’t cover a large area of effect with their scoped shot, or to be too close or far from the action. And a Widow can’t tunnelvision either since they’re always backed up with the threat of enemy flankers.

Gamesense and positioning are not exclusive to certain heroes. It can’t be used to gauge the level of skill a hero takes.

You’re completely missing the point with that one. The problem is the opposite of tanks being weak, the problem is tanks are becoming increasingly bad at actually being a tank and are just instead fat dps, hence it being a tank meta because they’re just basically dps with 200-400 more health.

Widow chooses one spot that has good sights for each fight and sticks to it. Each map has set spots that do this, they don’t change.

With flankers, she’s gotta aim to deal with them, othwise she’s reliant upon her healers to come save her. Especially when Winston jumps her.

Overall she’s not that stressed with game sense or positioning. Watch Kephriis videos, he chooses a spot for each encounter and sticks to i. If a flanker comes, he aims and attempts to deal, if he misses and a brawl ensues, a healer or tank helps out

I think it was just that Rein is always just good. And Brig can’t delete his shield with her CC anymore

Welcome to Overwatch 2019 and Reaper is still trash tier but his butt still fine as hell though.

I’ve never head of that, but now I’m really curious.

Oh, heroes don’t have to be DPS to have difficult and creative FPS mechanics. Ana and Zarya are meta and they play pretty FPS-y.

That being said game balance is kind of dumping on DPS right now and that’s not ok.

With Activision “aka the next EA” taking over blizzard i wouldnt really hope for the best in 2019.

Tanks and supports have always been meta since the game game out. Can’t wait for the outrage when one of them isn’t in the meta.

Please tell me why those two roles should be catered to but DPS should be shafted? Or is your high and mighty support mindset making you above all us DPS plebians?

The delicious irony of this is that I posted this exact thing shortly after Mercy nerf and triple/quad tank was starting to come into fashion with Moira as the backbone for slambulance. Everyone told me I was wrong and triple tank meta was the best time for Overwatch.

Can anyone tell me how crow tastes?

It’s not the Mercy nerf that makes Goats, though.

It’s Brig. The core problems with her design haven’t been addressed. The easy stun kills were the cheapest feeling part, but not the part that actually breaks the game.
