because having hack gives you more options for what you can do.
i do play soldier but i also play sombra and tracer.
the changes to sombra sound bad but we dont know if they are bad, it could simply be a change in playstyle.
she still has hack, she can still interrupt ults.
the only real difference is your 1v1 potential is better but your survivability suffers.
but we wont know for certain if shes good or bad until season 8, because it could take an entire season for people to unlearn old sombra and adjust to new sombra.
The way hack used to be, gave you an advantage over 1v1 already.
hack on a 6 second cooldown is pointless to lock out abilty for 1.5 seconds. it already takes about 1 second cooldown to do anything just about.
So its pointless as a hack. people will only be using it for “damage” on cooldown.
Why? because they are still making it dependant to increase her damge.
NOW, if they just increase her gun damage back to normal levels, and remove the damage increase on her Hack, and reduce the cooldown back. NOW WERE TALKING, and maybe keeps her identity as a disrupter intact.
in what world are we calling a 1.5 second block on abilities an “advantage” in a 1v1, it was good for canceling ults and certain channeled abilities but otherwise hack was eh. it announces your presence and anyone with half a brain instantly started to dps you before you could even fire into them. (this is only made a lil less bad in the new version because so much of your combo dmg comes from a dot)
your complaining that sombra’s hack got nerfed when it was the most convoluted part of her kit.
if your playing in a rank where you can hack someone and they dont react and you can then shoot them. then you shouldnt be in this conversation because your not going to notice any changes in your game
but for me, i can hack someone, hit em with the dot and burn em down and potentially kill someone before a support can react.
then i can interrupt an ult or channeled ability later on as needed.
this shifts some of her power from her hack onto her dmg potential.
but anything beyond saying that is speculation. supports said they were weak in season 1 when we very clearly know looking back that they wernt.
its better to wait and see how sombra plays in real ranked matches then it is to sit here complaining about what ifs.
If only it was hyperbole. She gets a long-ish CD “skill shot” burst damage ability, a (worse) version of sprint, and a (worse) version of recall–Sombra’s rework reads like soldier 76.
100 damage over 4 seconds, on a 6 second cooldown. Helix does 120 on impact, on a 6 second cooldown. You’re right, virus is worse than helix, my bad.
Yes, this is correct too. You can use sprint mid-fight to reposition, and you can’t use stealth at all mid-fight. It makes running back from spawn a little faster, I guess–oh wait, they nerfed the movement speed bonus so it’s just sprint but useless in combat.
Yeah, but the reason you can is because if you couldn’t he’d be dead in the water as soon as anyone gave him a stern glance. Almost as if this is a lesson they could have applied when they redesigned stealth for the 15th time…
