They took 50 of my HP! Then this…this so called passive. They rubbin the salt in!

Passives are one of the most stupid features ever added to the game, a “solution” for a problem you created making the game 5vs5 which wasnt there with 6vs6, and subroles are even more stupid, all dps passive suck, you even forgot you have them, the “watch enemies with low hp only if you hit them and only 5 seconds” is so usless, i have played those characters and i have never seen the passive in action, the enemy dies before i have to search for them thanks to the increase of the global dps passive that again, isnt needed if the game were 6vs6 only

Like i read somewhere, maybe the big change for 2026 was going to be teamups, another copy of marvel rivals, but seeing how everyone disliked that they had to backtrac and come up with something on the go because majority of passives were already in the game before, you didnt have to put effort on coding them

overwatch 2 2 developers are freaking genius, give a character a weakness to balance the game and then remove the weakness with a passive

Which Sub-role would you want Ashe in? Specialist or her current Sharpshooter?

Why does Tactician need a negative attached to it? 25% less ult charge for being at full health? Whuh–Why?

Like, it’s the only one out of these that has a heavy negative to it in exchange to a situational positive! Sometimes you need to throw that out as soon as you’re 100%!

I seen other posts saying that Moira was getting less ult charge at full HP, and I was about to start causing a ruckus, but the article was updated saying that was typed in error.

none, passives are stupid specially global passives, the point of ashe is being powerfull at long range with slow reload to compensate, widow have to load her shoots to be at full power for the same reason, she doesnt have a sniper machine gun.

is not obligatory a character to have passives, and if they it should be specific for every character based on their kits

I really like the idea of sub role passives because it helps players get a general idea of what that hero should be doing.

That said, Kiriko really doesn’t belong in the medic sub role. She has so much ability to threaten or kill enemies from different angles and flanks. I think it’s really misleading giving her a sub role named “medic”.

Makes sense to me.

But consider how the original roles were organized, and how the only role that could self-heal and heal others was only available to that one role.

Consider how the Defense Role and Offense Role were organized and then merged together into one role, even though those two roles offer dramatically different specializations.

Or how dramatically different each Tank plays from the next? Wouldn’t sub-roles help differentiate or help bring out more overt specializations? We still have many players that think Ashe and Widowmaker are both snipers.

And likewise, Kiriko here is perceived as being mislabeled as a Medic, even when Blizzard wants players focusing on this method of play for her over other methods, and went out of their way to remove said methods (no more 3x critical hit modifiers).

giving free hp to all tanks that can be on the air of course is not something benefits everyone, but give it to all tanks who can be on the air is the opposite problem, for them be on the air is already a powerfull tool to scape and you give them free hp for that?

why hazard doesnt have it but have antiboop passive when he can jump back to the map with walljump included? for rein makes sense, 0 vertical mobility, not for hazard.

roadhog who already have a perk to make him faster when is autohealing gets more speed when low at hp to get a health pack or get close a healer? stupid

not the same, deffense role was removed because even if on paper they have a specific job on reality they were dps, and back them roles didnt had passsives so there wasnt a problem to delete a role or add another, game was open queue too, not role queue yet

a minor passive dont make them more equal or more different than they already are

Confident in your ability to click heads? Heroes with the Sharpshooter Sub-Role reduce movement ability cooldowns with every critical hit, totaling 0.75% of damage dealt. For example, if you hit a clean arrow to an enemy noggin as Hanzo, you’ll get to Lunge 1.875 seconds faster the next time you need it.

So I’m seeing this two ways, but your wording here changes how I first saw it. Hanzo’s Lunge is on quite a short cool down, so to me you’d have to lunge and hit someone with a headshot to get the 1.875 faster cooldown before the original cooldown ends, which is generally pointless unless rarely grouped up on.

But you said “next time you need it”… So does that mean if he hits headshot while his lunge isn’t on cooldown, that if he uses lunge after a head shot, then that cooldown will still get the 1.875 benefit, so he can use it a second time a bit sooner?

Stalwart
Domina, Hazard, Junker Queen, Ramattra, Reinhardt
Some tanks need to stand strong against relentless attacks from enemies and the Stalwart passive helps keep them bending, not breaking. Heroes with this Sub-Role are imbued with 40% Knockback Resistance and 40% Slow Resistance to keep things moving. Try that boop again, Lúcio. See what happens.

The knockback resistance should count against Hog’s hook. He should lose 40% of the pull distance against these tanks.

I hope there’s willingness to do a little experimentation with which heroes belong where. I’m not 100% sure if the Stalwart role really fits Queen, and if she wouldn’t be better served taking reduced crit damage and having increased speed

EDIT: A previous version of this blog stated that Heroes with the Medic Sub-Role gained 25% less Ultimate charge if they were at or over full health, which wasn’t accurate. Sombra must’ve gotten into the servers to sneak that info in.

Move Mizuki to Tactician. He has a defensive ult he wants to save for key moments.

Move Jetpack Cat to Medic. While she does want to hold her ult, it’s not the same as a playmaking ult like Nano Boost or Transcendence. She would do better in Medic, encouraging her to stick with her team and heal them.

We probably need a “Brawler” subrole for damage heroes with limited range and mobility that want to be in the thick of it. I’m thinking Reaper, Venture, Mei, Torbjorn, Symmetra. Something like “gain 20% damage resistance while below 50% HP.”

Agreed. She already has her biotic grasp lifesteal so this doesn’t change anything at all for Moira players like me lol.

Live to see another fight by choosing a Hero with the Survivor Sub-Role, which activates passive health regeneration upon the usage of a movement ability, like Brigitte’s Shield Bash or Juno’s Speed Ring. Escape out of danger (or from behind your nearest chunky tank), regain health, and get back into the fight at top speed.

Isn’t this part about Juno incorrect or was this initially intended to work? As of right now, it seems that only Glide Boost triggers her Survivor passive, not Hyper Ring.

Can we move the achievements and hero challenges into the same place? They are the same thing and its just confusing to have them separate.

This is cool and all but in Stadium there are no sub-role passives at all!
Is this intentional? Can’t find any official information on why this is.
