With the Weekly Recalls and Livestreams being our two newest series, we have to ask: what are the things you all want to see covered in the future? Any topics you don’t typically hear from us but want to?

I’d love to hear more about a couple of things!

  • What does the future hold for the Replay Viewer - are there any exciting new features coming up possibly to improve the playback or clip/match recording experience?
  • What does the dev team think about the potential for an Overwatch spin-off Battle Royale game or MMORPG?
  • I’d absolutely love to hear more about the technical side of things and various processes for instance:
  • Will the game be updated for the Nintendo Switch 2 and what sort of improvements can we expect?
  • With the surge of new PC gaming handhelds coming out - does the team see a future where a large percentage of players do play on these devices and would changes be specifically made to cater for these devices for example putting them into the console pool if they were playing in handheld mode?
  • What you plan to implement in the future with regard to new graphical technologies e.g. DLSS Frame Generation or AMD Anti-Lag 2 or even ray-tracing support - whether that was ever considered?
  • Talk more about the potential for mouse and keyboard support on console and what the team believes would be the benefits or the downsides to that and if there are any major hurdles or challenges
  • Further extended multi-platform support - like whether the game could ever see a potential Mac release or mobile release?
  • Does the team consider things like the ability to run Overwatch on Mac via translation software like CrossOver?
  • What does the team think about cloud gaming and how that fits into the future of Overwatch and its playerbase - are there any plans for further integration with for example NVIDIA GeForce NOW that could allow highlights to automatically save?

This drives discussion and ideas.

Yes, it may also drive criticism, but as long as it’s constructive and backed by data I’d say that’s a good thing.

Can we talk about improvements to the map voting systems

I’ve been tracking my matches and simply put it’s unacceptable for a system to be put in place that allows so much of the game to be filtered the way it currently does…in particular in the non competitive modes…think there were other less obtrusive ways to provide people with a game that better reflects THEM…also why is it not a blind system

(Also why is 2cp not a part of voting)

It feels like a communication tool people use pretty often.

I would love to see more behind the scenes about the process of creating a hero or skins.
Just like Felipe Pereira does in his channel the behind the scenes for the Audio Design of the heros and places for Overwatch 2, his video about Freja and Illari are amazing.
This would be especially nice for the Collabs and Mythic skins.

Anything Workshop related please!

Whether an update is being worked on, if it is if there is anything you want or can share, big changes, small changes, anything.

I know it’s probably not easy to work on but I feel like the Workshop has so much untapped potential and could really bring in a lot of players if it was more easly accessible and provided more features to the players that use it. Map editors/makers, hero rework ideas, hero concepts, etc. Maybe even a tutorial mode for it that teachers people the basics.

I’d be curious to hear how they plan out seasons. Like how they decide which content gets released when, how they choose the themes for cosmetics, the process for coordinating all this, etc.

I could be mis-remembering… but wasn’t there supposed to be a new inclusion of a stats page that shows the actual hard numbers as far as the damage a weapon deals, or how much healing is provided, etc?

I get that would be a lot to keep up with since this games numbers are constantly changing, but still, with how fleshed out the rest of this game is with all the various maps, modes, replay viewer, arcade, hero gallery, player history, hero trials, etc… not having a basic stats page for each hero seems like a glaring omission.

As for what I’d like the team to do, there’s just one thing:

  • Bring back the “Yule Log” Christmas streams that Overwatch used to host on its official Twitch and YouTube channels on December 24th of each year. If you don’t know what they’re about, you could search for them as “Overwatch Yule Log” on the official PlayOverwatch YouTube channel. You can start recording with the Game Director now in case you don’t have time at the end of the year :').

I’d be curious to know what’s the ongoing balance philosophy and why so many heroes are perhaps never or barely taken care of to either match the top heroes or match the bottoms heroes.

Can we expect balancing done to most flex-DPS heroes or lower-performing tanks/supports? It’s been a while that we’ve last seen these happen for many heroes, while hitscans have received mostly adjustments resulting in overall net buffs. Is overwatch trying to accomplish a revamp of philosophy by saying there are mostly just a few ways to be “easily dominant” while the rest is just discount “accessible” and requiring much more efforts for the same value of the top hitscan heroes?

Is Overwatch 2 a game where only 1/5th of heroes are so good the 4/5th remaining doesn’t matter?

I want you to look to their bread winner; WoW.
That polish you speak of is gone.

That is part of the reason Jeff left. He wanted to polish more, and slow things down. But that costs more money and gets less. It was around then that the polish was even falling for WoW. And since has gotten worse.

I’d like to hear more about the cosmetic side of things. We really never get to hear anything about cosmetics unless its the usual “New Cosmetics: Gilded Aspects!” or “New Cosmetics: Mythic Weapons!” from the summary blogs at the start and midseason patches.

I’d like to hear:

  • Why do some heroes go multiple seasons without skins and others get multiple skins per season?
  • Why was the ability to purchase the Ultimate Battle Pass skins separately abandoned?
  • When will loot boxes be updated with the new season shop skins? (We still can’t get Season 15 or Season 16 shop cosmetics.)
  • Will Legendary Weapon Skins ever come back?
  • Is there any plans to add Random From Favorites for things like weapon skins, weapon variants, and profile customization (Name Cards, Player Icons, and Player Titles)?
  • Are there any plans to bring back the old customization style of Mythic Hero Skins, where it feels like a mythic from the beginning with customization choices rather than upgrading to a level that makes it feel like a mythic? Also, is there any plan to add weapon customization back to mythic hero skins or have mythic weapon skins replaced that?
  • Will there be any new methods to get Mythic Prisms besides the Premium Battle Pass? I’d love to be able to exchange Coins for Mythic Prisms.
  • Will we ever get guaranteed skins as Twitch Drops again (like Rainy Day Mei and Ice Princess Symmetra) or will it continue to just be 1 normal loot box and 1 epic loot box? I prefer getting guaranteed skins, especially since there’s no guarantee you’ll get anything good in loot boxes.
  • Will old battle pass cosmetics ever come to the shop? Or maybe even bringing back old battle passes?

Not only new things, but basic bug fixes. Season by Season, the workshop grows buggier and oftentimes unusable. It’s by far the most neglected part of the game. Each new patch is a disappointment with zero comments or updates on workshop, in spite of an active base very dedicated to it and new developers steadily showing up only to be limited by old glitches.

Anything related to networking would be nice once in a while, these days I end up playing with high ping on servers far from my location. I wouldn’t mind waiting a few more minutes in queue to get a server in my region instead of playing a match where I have 90ms and I can barely see the enemy tracer blink.

Anything workshop related, the guys making the modes behind the scenes defenitly needs and update to make more cool gamemodes, I sometimes only open to game to browse custom game modes and I think it would be could if more care was put into it.

Other than that I really like stadium and am excited for what this game will bring in the future.

Aaron Keller has repeatedly agreed with comments saying that the Workshop has a lot of untapped potential and deserves more love, but we’ve seen zero updates for years now. Asking devs about it on socials ends up in deflection (understandably so, there are things that can’t be discussed openly), so now that you’re asking us to ask, how about any updates on it? We’re stuck with year old bugs and the same annoying limitations that are being tracked and reported for ages now, but the answer is never satisfying (that is, if there’s an answer).

Love this game and its devs. Thank you!

Workshop! Anything about it that delves deeper into behind the scenes of Workshop. Even if its something like a video explaining how it is deprecated and almost impossible to work with would be nice. As it stands, its an untouched, forgotten aspect of the game with no statements on its decaying state.

Obviously, what we really want is updates and upkeep with the Workshop: exposing hero-specific abilities (Hover Jets, Empowered Punch, Zarya’s charge), allowing access to passives, hero stats (atk speed, reload speed, etc), just off the top of my head- but ofc that seems like a hopeful and distant future.

Please ANY look BTS of Workshop at all!!!

I would love some updates to the workshop!

Whether it is bug fixes for exisiting (soldier helix, pharah fuel not registering, ammo tracking not working or player outlines not working) or adding new features such as modifying attack speed, tuning the radius of abilities such as soldier healing station.

I know a map editor would be a long shot to implement but having some collision objects would be really cool (maybe limit it to the workshop maps)
