It’s more than a feeling 
This is the response to Kiriko and Mercy skin buyers slowing down on their whaling, because Blizzard oversaturated them with skins and burned them out.
The sales data on Kiriko skin uptake by past Kiriko whales who have fallen off on their purchases will be the key metric that Blizzard will be looking at.
I see this new tier as super cynical. They really invest the bare minimum to maximize return, and only get serious about improving the game or the value on offer, when their engagement nosedives.
Sierra shouldn’t have gotten the first Ultra skin; she’s a brand new hero, only two months old.
And Kiriko… well, she’s just Kiriko, nothing more.

I’d say it’s less ‘red flag’ and more so ‘gauging player interest’.
I dont ever buy any of these skins and I still think a new pricing tier is a seriously bad look that I honestly hope sort of backfires and humbles the devs. Just my two cents though.
I could see it being useful for the data analysis on the Kiriko skin to use a newer female character without many skin options as a separate data point.
Also, they may want to see if people are willing to pay more for skins for new characters.
I still fail to see the distinction between these skins and mythic/legendaries. It feels like they’re cutting things from both and slapping it together into a pricier bundle despite older legendary skins already doing this.
Still not impressed and this an incredibly tone deaf addition.

When is the skin being added exactly? I don’t see it anywhere nor have I seen any indication of delaying it past the season release. I just don’t see anywhere talking about when it’s going to be added.

“Right now, that means visual effects on reloads or eliminations as well as new sound effects. We’re leaving things open” = We can decide to reduce the number of extra effects just like we did with mythic scins customization for the same price.

I dont mind the idea of ultra skins and using them to take risks on things that might be niche, or not what someone would want for a mythic. But what gets me is, I dont think weapon mythic skins should be as expensive as they are. if for one theyre only a gun model, and for two you can now get skins that have kill eliminations and sound effects that literally takes away half of the “upgrades” mythic weapons have? So whats the point. I get the ultra skins wont “always” have it, and that the weapon skins also have some other details. But it still feels bad thinking about it.

Bring down legendary prices and sell these for 1900. People will be happy and more incentivized to buy them.

I really hope people don’t blame the artists for the ultra skins or anything else - as I said they’re actually really nice and well done, they’ve clearly put a lot of love into them.

Can we make previous years legendary skins cost Overwatch Credits (White) instead of Overwatch Coins?
Or give us an option to convert Credits to Coins at a high rate?
1,000 Credits to 100 Coins or something like that. It would likely help a lot of people who don’t want to or can’t spend real cash on the Battlepass.
I’m tired of seeing 65k credits that I can’t do anything with.

Can we get a statement on how to justify the price?
All we see is a legendary skin with sound (mercy’s mythical weapon sounds)+ a PNG kill effects for 1900 OW coins on Top…
