Stadium systems designer Larry Wu is here to introduce Gadgets, active items that aim to even out your early rounds and add devastating power to your late-game Builds. Learn about the production process, the value of trial and error, and some tips to maximize your Gadget investments.
No, I do not think I will.
How about balance the main game and throw this joke into the trash?
I’d like a gadget that disables all auto aim abilities.
There’s no room for gadgets in the downgraded Bo5 format that was pulled over our eyes after happily playing “Competitive” Stadium for 3 seasons.
The gadget cooldowns are almost longer than matches now.
Lets talk about how you gonna revert Stadium to Bo7 next week instead, due to the miscalculation on your part. ![]()
IDGAF aboout gadgets, give me BO7
That’s great, and imma let you finish, but can we bring competitive back to a Bo7 format please?
Could this be hinting at an Inspector Gadget collab?!

Gadgets seem like a good idea on paper but in my limited experience (whilst I now wait for Bo7 to return) they don’t really impact your build much and limit those of us using a controller who have to find yet another button to map. A bit of an unnecessary addition imo, especially this early in to Stadium’s life.
Oh and lets also talk about compensating us with a few dozen lootbox for this mishap and a promise to never touch how stadium works again.
Too much?
In a few weeks, you mind doing another Weekly Recall that looks over the pick rate percentage and prevalence of gadgets over traditional items? I have a feeling that gadgets are going to be mostly overlooked in favor of that consistency you mention, since the incredibly long cooldowns and incredibly low effectiveness times definitely are completely outweighed by the power and effects provided by equivalently priced regular items. It’s bad enough that certain gadgets cost as much as they do, but to trade in the effectiveness of a regular Epic item for a rarely-used ability that ALSO has downsides is too much of a trade-off for any players to take seriously.
Bring back Bo7, we barely have time or money to get a full build going, imagine to buy gadgets ![]()
We dont want gadgets, we want BO7 back.
Stadium comp is now dead and unstrategic because of the new BO5.
Just read the endless posts on the forums about it.
yeah, still not playing until you revert to bo7. gadgets won’t be enough to make that change even tolerable
How could I buy a gadget for tatical reasons if there is not enough rounds and time for do it so? bring back bo7 and them we talk
They’re an addition many of you have been asking about since Stadium launched and today
Like… who are you lying too? Who do you think will believe this?
The dedicated slot caused testers to report frustration at the Gadgets feeling mandatory; many felt the added complexity of an extra input was overwhelming or they forgot to use the items.
Skill issue.
Adding costs and stats gives us multiple “levers” to balance Gadgets. Take the most expensive Gadget—Refresher—which massively reduces your cooldown time on cast. It’s expensive for a reason: at 13,000 Stadium Cash, you need to choose whether to invest in that Gadget or further improve your Build statistically. If it turns out that Refresher (or any Gadget) feels overpowered, we can either reduce the effects or tune the price and stats to even things out.
And so this is why Reaper’s only useful power was nerfed… cool. Now everyone has his best power. Why even bother picking him?
Why would anyone take a gadget over a permanent stat increase and/or effect? Especially with best of 5, where no one has enough cash to even make their standard builds. Go back to best of 7 and gadgets might actually see some use.
“They’re an addition many of you have been asking about since Stadium launched”…
I don’t know of anyone who has been asking for gadgets. Who is the dev team getting their feedback from?
Gadgets are in general: niche, hard to activate, and have way too long of a cooldown to be of any use.
There’s a few outliers, but that sums them up. Next season, lets add some more useful items instead.
I know people were asking for consumables, like potions, speed boosts, or other 1-time use effects, since at certain points, a build was complete and they had 10k or more money to spend with nothing to spend it on. I’m guessing they are referring to people who have been asking for consumables, but have lumped them in together with a mechanic that is literally nothing like a consumable and doesn’t solve the problem players were actually complaining about (too much money and nothing to spend it on).
