We still need a laser cannon of some sort, not like zaryas, not like symmetras.
but a cannon that launches a friggen laser beam. make it a slow charging beam that does more damage the longer its charged, and give it to a tank. and im talking a cyclops or iron man type of beam, not some wimpy winston spark.

It’s a chunky thick big boi beam that you charge up then fire. It’s from the Halo series. I don’t know how it works these days, but old iterations required you to charge it all the way before it fired. Not exactly what you suggested, but the basic mechanic is there.
