Hero throws caltrops (or tripwire) on ground, aoe sized of a rein shield, people on them got slow effect and can’t use mobility skills. Either it should last some time or it should be bunch of projectiles that cleanse up if someone step on them
All I think of is a very angry Orisa stepping on a caltrop.
If Blizzard approach Junkrat correctly, instead of two mines he could have had two traps.
However, I do agree. We need more trap based type heroes.
They could really just give this to existing characters. Give it to mei and sym.
Make mei’s slow effect reduce movement abilities by a set %? e.g tracer can only blink 75-50% the distance she normally would forcing her to burn her skills to escape and back off.
Make syms turrets do the same but make it so each turret lockon increases the %. 6 turrets on you, then you won’t move far and have to burn your blinks.
This would effect D.va boost, winston jump, genji dash, tracer blink, maybe doomfist rocket punch etc.
Or slimetrails to slow enemies. Like a splatoon style gun to cover surfaces.

That’s why I suggested slows only effect movement abilities. That way charge would only be reduced and nothing else. All slower heroes would be unaffected since most have no movement abilities. The faster ones would all have a harder time escaping.
If you’re slow you’re gonna get caught regardless by a mei or sym.
which movement abilities though? There’s some that caltrops make no sense affecting. Things like Moira’s fade, Reaper’s wraith form, Mercy’s guardian angel, Pharah jets, Widow hook, and Junkrat Mines don’t really seem like they would be affected by caltrops, considering they’re not touching the ground.

I wasn’t talking caltrops, i was just saying add the effect to mei’s and syms slows instead of adding a new skill. Would give off meta chars a chance to counter dive better.
Yea that would be up to the dev team to decide. I agree things like those shouldn’t be affected by it. For starters reaper and moira’s skills make them invuln so that wipes the slow effect off which is right.
Then give Rein buffs
