But you have to grind for the majority of heroes, against other people who most likely paid for early access, which means they paid to get an advantage because they have a new hero early, therefore being P2W.

mate ur so exhausting, just shut up and play the game or not ,complaining so much about it isnt gonna change anything and no 90% of ow2 isnt locked behind a paywall is just cosmetics sure kiriko is in the battlepass at lvl 55 out of 80 which is not good but either way shell be free in most game mods in arcade ,all ow1 owners will get her from the begging which lets be honest is most of the ow2 playerbase ,and theres still ways to get free skins like the kiriko twitch drop skin and charm ,we also get a new event on release ,im not saying blizzard is doing something good but the amount of hate ow2 has been getting is just so exhausting just give the damn game a try and then will see ,why is it that the ow community is so negative all the time ,it took halo fans months to accept halo infinite was bad even after release ,can we please just give ow2 a try before being so overwhelmingly negative
In my head, the only content locked behind a paywall is hopefully gonna be purely cosmetic. While at present, the first three new heroes will be in the Battle Pass, there will be opportunities to grab new heroes for free. There will be new heroes every other season, new maps and all the content we’ve asked for from day one. We’ll just have to see how far this free-to-play model goes…

This just goes to show how bad and stupidly confusing Blizzard’s communication is.
Sojourn and Queen are free to unlock, Kiriko is in the Battle-Pass and she can be grinded out or bought outright.
Future heroes will also be in the Battle-Passes, because Blizzard really needs to milk this franchise dry apparently.

Money in essence making it easier to access a character is pretty much a paywall
A ‘paywall’ is usually defined by the abstract idea of a wall that cannot be torn down, unless using money to get through. It’s better to see it as a ‘paypath’. One that you could take to get the character quicker.
Besides, this is only the case for new players as of October 4th, not returning ones. Many heroes are locked behind playwall now, where you have to just play more to access them. The same is kinda with Kiriko, except there are gonna be multiple ways to gain this access.
Man people don’t think about things before they post on the blizzard forum do they? Do you think that blizzard just sat back on their thumbs well this was all going on and that we’re not going to get a whole bunch of other great content that they have just waiting for us considering that the new heroes were already made and the maps?
A small percentage of this community is a bunch of whiners don’t appreciate anything it’s a video game get a life I just play it if you like it if you don’t go f****** Apex Legends or some second rate game.
Thats the WoW cope, “just wait until beta, just wait untill prepatch, just wait until .1”
If the devs are going to ignore the game as its par for the course with Blizz, we need our own cope, we can’t just use WoWs.

You are not the only one who does not know what to say to this.
They meant actual content. We have recieved a steady amount of cosmetics for all of Overwatch’s life.
ok thats just being technical with the wording, its still people being mad at heroes being locked
and yes, its only the case for new players. until it isnt and when heroes after these 3, which will be in the dozens at some point will be locked behind hero packs when the battlepass expires. if their skin prices are anything to go by, i just doubt it’ll be convenient.

f2p means “FOMO” and it’ll make $ from same ppl who do it for CoD.
all of which could of been done in the 3 yrs of drought of OW1.
they chose not to.
cosmetics arent content.
content changes game in some way.
cosmetics change how you look (in a game where YOU dont see your own look 90% of game) but dont change the game at all.
new heroes, new maps, new events are content.
changing ur look? not content.
Hopefully they never go back to 6v6 because 5v5 is 100x better
