We don't need 6v6 role queue

Just balance 5v5 for open queue and let people play whatever they want to play. Role queue is garbage especially for tank players.

Let players think for themselves instead of having their handheld by making sure they have two of each every game.

Especially with blizzard admitting that they’re not sure that their engine could even handle 6v6 properly. Actually stick with something about the “2” in Overwatch2 because that’s all you have left besides slightly better graphics.

Open queue didn’t work years ago, it doesn’t work now, and it won’t ever work. The average player is too selfish to self-regulate.

always said that the community itself ruined the game.

open queue is the best take on experimenting with every team composition but like above just said, the community ruins it with their selfishness and egos.

the best idea is to merge tanks and dps into one role and require 2 supports. Supporting is far more important than tanking. Supports can turn a DPS into a tank if both are pocketing the same target.

Might aswell go to 4v4 then if they can’t handle it or end the franchise

We needed 6v6 role queue then, and we need it now.

Just remove the tank role

I think it did work, but most people don’t like feeling pressured to play what they don’t want to play. I was ok with them being uncomfortable, because those people just wouldn’t climb and I wouldn’t see them for long anyway. Open queue was great for team players who put time into learning many heroes.

Role-less queue did work quite well, imo, right up until 222 was inflicted upon the game like a bad plague

Role-less queue has worked, is working, and can work again.

to me, the selfish players are the ones that demand that other players - never themselves, of course - play the generally less-preferred roles

The classic 5 tanks on 3rd point permastall. It’s bad enough with Kiri ball venture Mei. Imagine orisa hog ball ram and some support like Kiri or moria

Open queue was making the game unbearable. Majority of games atleast 4 people in your team would pick DPS and argue for others to swap.

People want to have fun which is understandable, but at the expense of others enjoyment kills the mood before the game has even started. Role queue was the right direction, it was just bad decisions and dumb balancing issues that made RQ queue times on DPS so high because DPS was the most overtuned and enjoyable role at that time. Tank was boring, and so was support.

OQ sucks. It’s entirely dependent on who picked the better 3 tank combo.
If your team is playing 1 tank, 3 dps 1 support, you literally have 0 chance against the enemy team running Mauga, Rein, Hog, Moira, Ana, no matter how well you all play.
It’s boring.

This is an opinion stated as if it were fact, when it isnt fact

Many players, myself included, vastly prefer roleless queue over the excessive queue times, absence of flex play, stale metas, and other severe issues 222/122 inflicts upon the game

Not at all

Particularly since many roleless queue matches have fewer tanks. Sometimes no tanks at all

0 chance?

Any team composition can beat any other composition

Another opinion stated as if it were fact, when it isnt fact

Good news, tho…there are other modes one can play

Yeah, totally agree. 6v6 unmitigated Open Queue chaos is actually worse than 5v5 OQ chaos.

I have seen arguments that it used to work before Role Queue, but RQ was made because the original OQ had become hot garbage. I seem to recall the game starting to feel much different once content creators started going on about how you could shoot up the ranks by playing only one hero, which started the one-trick trend and, thusly, the trend of people refusing to swap characters in an OQ setting.

People eventually figured out the game, so you either did what was good or you had one reluctant tank, four dangerously unqualified dps, and that poor Mercy one-trick going against a 2-2-2 or 3-0-3 (not necessarily GOATS, as that was a specific hero selection) comp. There’s a limit to how much crazy you can have in your bread, after all.

tank is supposed to win the 1v1 against dps and support so open q is just not really a good idea when tanks are involved

yea u can lower their hp a bit but then tanks like JQ take a huge hit and other tanks cant… tank anymore (even if their hp pool is what allows them to get elims) so idk

:hamster:

The devs explicitly stated that they don’t balance for 1v1’s, as OW is a team game first.

yea but if tanks can easily die in a duel against someone with 250 hp then they arent really a tank (ignore skill diffs)

As someone who has been a flex player from day one ( my first two mains were Brig and Sombra in 2018, now have also added Mei, Junkrat, Hog, queen, and still working on Venture to that list), I don’t understand how open queue isn’t the standard format anyway…

Tank players tend to prefer role queue, specifically 6v6 role queue. Why you ask? Solo tanking sucks. That’s the entire reason so many tanks are against 5v5. If you think that they’d be happier with open queue then you’re delusional.

Open que allows for more than one tank though?
